Chapter 22

Peeta’s POV:

We go into the limo that Effie provided for us and we head to our reception.

Katniss sits on my lap in the back seat with her hands wraps around my neck.

“So how do you like the name Katniss Mellark?”

“I absolutely love it!”

“Well I’m glad. I can’t believe we’re married now!”

“I know and I couldn’t imagine it any other way.”

She kisses me passionately and I kiss back harder and our little kissing session lasts for 5 minutes until the limo comes to a stop.

“Well I enjoyed that!” says Katniss.

“Me too.” 

We smile at each other and we both head out into the hotel for our reception.

We enter and everyone is already there cheering for us.

We all grab some champagne and head to the dance floor.

The DJ says, “Ok everyone it’s time for the first dance!”

I take Katniss’s hand and the music starts playing.

She places her hands around my neck and I place my hands on her waist.

She lays her head on my shoulder as we dance to “A Drop in the Ocean.”

I lift her chin up and kiss her lips softly as everyone awwws.

“I love you Katniss.”

“I love you too.”

I kiss her lips passionately and when we release, the song is over.

“It’s time for the parent and child dances.”

I dance with Effie and Katniss dances with Haymitch since our mom and dads aren’t with us anymore.

“I’m so proud of you guys.” says Effie as she dances with me.

“Thanks Effie. If it weren’t for your guys help we wouldn’t even be here.”

After those dances, we all sit down for dinner.
