Chapter 11

Peeta’s POV:

We both wake up at 7:00 so we can both get ready for the first day at the bakery.

“Peeta, I can’t wait to spend the day at the bakery with you!”

“Me either!”

We leave the house and walk down to the bakery.

“Katniss I have to make some cheese buns to sell, do you want to help me?”

“I would love to!”

We put all the ingredients in the bowl and start mixing.

Our hands are wrapped around each other on the same spoon as we mix.

We look into each other’s eyes and I wipe some flour on her nose.

We kiss passionately until we are interrupted by the sound of the bell on the door.

It’s Haymitch.

“Well, well, well look who’s opened up their bakery again.”

“Yes I have. Would you like anything?” I ask as I put the cheese buns into the oven.

“Yes, I would like one of those cheese buns as soon as they’re out of the oven.”

“Okay. They’ll be done in about 10 minutes.”

“Hey Katniss, you might want to wipe that flour off your nose.”

“Thanks Haymitch! Wait, are you officially moved into District 12?”

“Yep.”

“That’s cool!”

I give Haymitch his cheese bun and right as he is about to leave he says...

“By the way I did see you kissing! It was disgusting!”

Me and Katniss both laugh and start making other pastries to sell.

The day goes on as people come and go until the day is over.

“Okay Katniss, let’s go home and get ready to go to the cliff.”

“Okay! I’m so excited!”

I take my key and lock the doors. Then, we walk home.

When we get home we start getting ready to leave. We pack a picnic with some sandwiches and pastries.

Then, we get into the car and drive to the cliff. When we arrive we lay down a blanket and start eating.

“Peeta, this view is amazing.” 

“I know right?”

It has a whole view of District 12.

Just as the sun is going down and you could see the sunset, I said “Katniss,” she turns around and I got down on one knee.
