On Jim 6 birthday he was in a terrible accident which caused him to go blind. But with the loss of his eyes his other senses started to increase. He was able to smell, hear, Feel the vibrations on the ground along with other abilities

Hello everyone now I know how people are feeling about the end of rise of Titans but I found a video that explains why Jim did what he did if you haven't seen the film you shouldn't watch this
(It's at the bit at the end I hope this will make you guys see that the ending wasn't all bad in fact it was rather mature but that's just my opinion)
Narrator point of view
In jim living room
Jim: so you're telling me that there are trolls living underneath the town of Arcadia and that it's my job to protect both worlds because there is an evil one which is trying to open a portal to a dark dimension to release his father so that the two of them could then rule the world with their army. Did I miss anything out?
The troll referring to himself as Blinky gave a happy smile: no master Jim you've pretty much summed everything up, and I must say you are taking this remarkably well
The other troll in the room Aaarrrggghhh: excited?
Jim put on a fake smile: Oh yeah sure I'm so excited that now I've been selected out of millions of people to protect the world no pressure or anything oh and now there is an something/someone that's going to come after me yeah that's so exciting
Aaarrrggghhh cheered not understanding and that was sarcasm: yay!!
Blinky placed his hand on his companions shoulder which grab his attention: my friend I believe that's what humans called sarcasm he says something but he doesn't really mean it.
Aaarrrggghhh happy expression faded:... oh
It was a moment of silence that made the atmosphere is very thick, Blinky understood that the boy World was literally turned upside down in this one night he understood that this was a lot to take in even for a troll much less human. He went over to the boy and placed his hand on his shoulder
Blinky speaking: Master Jim, That this is a lot for you to take in but you must understand the amulet chose you for a reason and from what me and my friend have seen you do today when you picked up that we have to say that for the first time ever we will leave the amulet made an excellent choice!
Jim seemed surprised by the praise her getting: you well watching me you saw what I did?
Blinky: absolutely and I have to say I am truly amazed the previous troll hunter wasn't able to climb that bridge that quickly when he just started out I have to say that you are quite athletic
Aaarrrggghhh complimented him to: amazing
Jim blushed as he was being flattered: thank you
Blinky: though I do have one question, why do you wear those glasses they are clearly fogging up your vision
Jim flattered expression went away and now it was more along the lines of annoyed: are you joking isn't it obvious
Aaarrrggghhh confused by Jim's turn of attitude: what is obvious?
In frustration At the trolls gym quickly removed his glasses to reveal his eyes and yelled out: i'm blind!
Both the trolls gasped as they looked into the eyes of their newfound troll Hunter
