• HIGH SCHOOL FICS
-The new kid who is unnaturally happy and no one finds this even a little suspicious.
-Suddenly a new emo/ goth boy appears.
-"oH mY gOdS hE's sO cUtE akdjdjejdhsjdn"
-Meanwhile, Nico: "He's cute, but he's probably like, sTrAiGhT."
-The entire fic focuses on them getting together. The platonic relationships they have with others have been paying Atlantis a visit.
-Guess what: the consent is still in Atlantis!!! What a shocker!
-They tell one another that they find each other hot, one of them kisses the other out of nowhere, and the two immediately confess their undying love towards the other. Take that, Romeo and Juliet!
-In case you were wondering, Nico's internalised homophobia that he had had for like, most of the story (because angst) went 'poof!' and disappeared all of a sudden.
-Will *heals* Nico from his depression while simultaneously remaining a useless character whose main role is being the love interest with zero trauma, apparently. He doesn't even do anything but stare in shock as his equally OOC boyfriend is getting beaten up by his ex, Octagon and his little popular clique!!!
-The 2.5 kids make a comeback in the tOtEs not cliché epilogue, except the 0.5 kid is now whole and they have been stolen by Solangelo and renamed as Bianca, Bianca and Bianca.
• SOULMATE AU
-A skull appears on Sunshine Solace's arm.
-"oH tHe hOrRoR, tHe hOrRoR!"
-Meets new goth kid.
-"oMg hE iS sOo hOt"
-"oMg hE iS mY sOuLmAtE bEcAuSe hE hAs a sUn tAtToO"
-*insert Naomi being homophobic for 5 chapters straight*
-*insert her homophobia disappearing in a flash at the end of the book*
-*insert cliché epilogue with the three Bianca(s)*
• "THREE DAYS IN THE INFIRMARY" FICS
-*drags Nico to the infirmary*
-"oH mY gOsH nEeKs yOu cAn'T bE sO sOcIalLy iNaCtIvE yOu kNow, i'M gOnNa fOrCe yOu iNtO sOcIaLiZiNg bEcAuSe i'M sO oOc, dOcToR's oRdErS!!!!!!!!!!!"
-Literally nothing about them meeting before BoO is mentioned, even though Nico canonically seems to know a lot about Will from beforehand in the original books
-Nico's internalised homophobia went on a cruise with Will's canon personality as a date out of nowhere but they seem to be lost at sea. And people, being people, forgot about them completely.
-Therefore, the readers were rewarded with the two kissing after a total of THREE days of knowing each other!!!
-This action was proceeded by the usual "i lOvE yOu bAbY!" "i lOvE yOu tOo bAbE" and adopting the three Bianca(s).
-What's the moral of this fic, you ask? Invalidating someone's trauma because they're a healer and because their boyfriend's trauma is "nOtHiNg cOmPaReD tO hIs"!!!!!!!!!
• GOING TO HOGWARTS
SCENARIO 1
-Will goes along with the Seven and Nico.
-Blushes when he finds out he has to share a room with Nico.
-Disappears for the rest of the fic.
-Appears again when they announce their godly relations.
SCENARIO 2
-Nico and Will are teachers at homophobic Hogwarts.
-That's it. That's literally just it.
• FANFICTIONS IN GENERAL
-Will's canonical trauma went down the drain for plot convenience.
-Ableist as hell (honestly blaming Rick for this one).
-Can do everything yet nothing at the same time.
-He's friends with everyone yet no one at the same time. Seriously guys, Will and Nico have other friends at camp too. Let's talk about that for once, maybe? Sounds pretty fun to us.
-ONLY INCLUDED IN FANFICS DEALING WITH ROMANCE BECAUSE HE OBVIOUSLY HAS NO SOCIAL LIFE.
-Smooth as butter when it comes to pickup lines???
-Will is only there to heal Nico, the rest of the time he is performing ballet to entertain Gerald Jack, Pan and Diana.
• ADDRESSING THE FANDOM (Only stating our opinion.)
"He's not a doctor!!! He can't just use the term 'doctor's orders'!!!" -He may not be a doctor in terms of receiving an MD, yet he was given the job of re-attaching limbs, delivering satyr babies and healing most of the camp? Not to mention he was probably trained by Chiron (and probably Mr. D) himself. Chiron has been known in Greek Mythology as one of the greatest healers and teachers, and he himself was taught by Apollo, the god of healing. Plus, Will is the son of Apollo, and inherited Apollo's healing abilities.
Moreover, he uses "doctor's orders" as a light-hearted joke.
(Whatever other criticisms you guys have about him, like his dialogues in BoO and other stuff are correct anyway lol, this was the only thing we wanted to address.)
(But whatever the case, your opinions are yours and they are valid.)
