"Girls, it is time to wake up!" I hear Ms. Hall yell.
I groan and keep my eyes closed, not wanting to wake up yet. I stretch out my hand to the nightstand and grab my phone. With force I open my right eye and look at the screen just to see that it is 12 PM.
"Ugh" I whisper with my raspy voice. My body feels sore as if I had worked out for several hours yesterday.
I look over to my side and see that Amy is half asleep, struggling to open her eyes. I shake her to wake her up and to this she groans, pushing my arms away form her.
"Stop." she whines and I chuckle.
"Get up." I tell her and she shakes her head.
I decide to get out of bed and change before heading to the bathroom.
"You better be up when I get back." I threaten jokingly.
After saying this, I head to the bathroom and the first thing I do is wash my face, followed by brushing my teeth. I look in the mirror and stare at the dark circles under my eyes. To me it looks like they belong to my face as a feature and make my eyes stand out and so I decide against putting on makeup. Afterwards, I put my hair in a messy bun and return to the bedroom.
When I enter the room I see Amy has fallen back asleep. I shake my head sarcastically and decide not to wake her up. Hearing the door klick, I let go of the nob behind me and head to the kitchen.
The moment I enter the kitchen, the smell of freshly baked croissants invade my nostrils and I glance at the kitchen counter. There I see them stacked up on a big plate.
"Oh there you are, darling." I hear Ms. Hall's voice behind me as she enters the kitchen.
"Morning." I say and smile at her.
"How did you sleep, my love?" she asks, while taking some cups out of the cupboard.
"Very well, thank you." I politely answer.
She puts the cups down on the table, next to the coffee machine. "The usual?" she looks over her shoulder to me and I smile, nodding my head.
She looks at the machine and taps on cappuccino, In a matter of seconds the cup is full and she takes it from underneath the machine and hands it to me. I thank her and take a tiny sip.
"Where is that sleepy head friend of yours?" she jokingly asks.
"She wouldn't wake up." I say.
"Amy!" she yells and waits a couple of seconds just to hear my best friend groan.
"Do me a favour, grab the plate and put it on the table in the living room." she tells me and I immediately stand up, doing as I'm told.
I walk into the living room and notice that the table is already set. It has plates, glasses and the breakfast is served as well. I sit down and a minute later, Ms. Hall joins me, putting the cups of coffee in her hands down and sits right in front of me.
I grab a croissant and take a bite. "Mhm, these are very delicious. Thank you." I say and this makes her smile.
"Always, honey." she answers. "How has uni been so far?" she asks. Of course, the typical question everyone asks new students.
"It's good. I settled well and my modules have been fun too." I say and think of other stuff to tell her.
"Fun?" her eyes widen. "All I hear from Amy is how hard and boring they are at the same time." she tells and laughs and I join. "I heard what happened with that one girl. Honey, I was in shock." she starts a whole new topic and it takes me a while to realise that she was talking about Christina.
