"Dad, you have nothing to worry about" I say as I see little tears shed from my father's eyes.
"I know honey, it's just that it is your first time here at Oxford and in two days, you will start studying here" he says. "You don't know anyone and Im just worried about you" he continues with a big smile on his face.
"Ty is going to help me, remember?" I ask. He promised to show me around before I am on my own.
"Bella, I just want you to know how absolutely proud I am of your success. You amaze me so much, even though I am older than you, you are still a huge inspiration for me, I mean it" he says, with clear proudness on his face.
"Thanks, dad" I respond, not knowing what else to say. I look on my phone to check the time. It is 1 PM. Ty told me he was going to pick me up at 1:30 and this is when I remember that I have to get ready. I hug my dad tighter and let go shortly afterwards.
"You should probably get going, I must get ready anyways" I say while looking on my dads shirt. He is wearing a blue shirt with a black tie. His dark grey trousers match with his black, polished and shiny shoes.
"You're right, I should. I don't want to but I should" he nods.
We both head towards the door to leave my room and go outside. As we reach his car, he hugs me one last time. We let go, he smiles wide and steps into his car.
"Bye dad" I whisper with a slightly shaky voice.
"Call me if you need anything" he offers.
"I will" I answer shortly.
The engine starts, he looks at me one last time and drives away. I wave at the car, watching it turn in the next corner.
I make my way back to my room and take a quick shower. As I step out of the bathroom, I check the time and realize that I have only 15 minutes left to get myself ready. I blow dry my hair and do my makeup as quickly as I can. I put on a white t shirt and a black skirt with black sneakers. I put on a silver necklace and earing and simply brush my hair.
As I'm already putting my shoes on, I hear a knock on the door. I quickly stand up and go open it. Its Ty, just like I expected.
"Hey Bella" he greets and hugs me straight away. I feel the warmth and excitement in his voice. The smells of his cologne is very amusing.
"Hi stranger, how are you?" I ask him a little nervous because I haven't seen him in a long time.
He is wearing a white t shirt and jeans. He has white shoes on. On his left-hand ring finger, he wears a golden ring. The rings are what I like the most about his style. Only Ty can pull this off.
"I'm great, thank you. How was your ride on the way here?" he questions.
"It wasn't bad actually. My dad was just a little sad about the fact that he had to leave" I respond while looking in the mirror to check myself out one more time.
"Been there" he giggles. "You look incredible by the way" he compliments.
"Thanks, so do you. I'm ready, we can leave" I inform him.
"Great, lets go then" he stands up from the chair and runs his fingers through his dirty blond hair.
We both leave my room and I lock it. As we head outside, I feel the sun on my skin. The weather is warm, the wind is soft and fresh. Students outside are occupied with their activities. Some are reading, others are drawing and a few are chatting with someone on the phone.
It's weird to be in a place like this for the first time."So where are we going?" I ask him with a big smile.
"I was thinking we could go to a restaurant, have a nice meal. Afterwards we can go to the city and I can show you around" he explains
"That's a great idea" I nod.
"The city centre is the most popular location here. There is everything there, shopping centres, supermarkets, different stores and restaurants" he utters.
"Perfect, I'm excited" I reply.
We arrive at the restaurant in the middle of a street. It is an Italian one, my favourite.
"Let's go" he instructs. We step inside and a waiter approaches us.
"Good afternoon. A table for two?" he asks friendly. He is wearing a black shirt and pants with black shoes.
"Yes, please" Ty answers.
He leads us to our table and we sit down. The waiter gives us the menu and walks away.
"What do you want to eat?" my best friend asks.
"Lasagne sounds really good right now" I chuckle.
"I think I will also have a lasagne" he smiles.
"Copycat" I tease him.
He calls for the waiter and orders our meal. The waiter collects the menus and walks away.
