As we head outside of the campus, I see Ty standing with Jace. They are both dressed casually, both are wearing jeans and t-shirts. Jace's rings shine in the slightly dark night.
"Hey" Ty greets us with a friendly smile.
"Sup" I shortly say and put on a smile. Jace looks up and down at me and then generously smiles.
"Let's go" he says and we start walking in the direction of the car. After a minute we reach the car and Ty sits in the passenger seat. Lana and I look at each other speechless and step into the vehicle. The inside of the car looks new because of the clean seats and fresh smell. Jace starts the engine and slowly drives out of his parking space.
"I can't believe I am here with you guys" Lana whispers to me and Jace seems to hear her voice as he looks in the rear-view mirror for a quick second.
"Why?" I ask her quietly.
"I thought I was going to be alone here" she confesses.
"Come on, did you really believe that?" I ask in denial.
"I guess I did not expect to find someone this early" she says. I respond to her by looking at her face and raising my eyebrows. My phone suddenly rings and I pick up the call without having a look on the screen.
"Hey honey" I hear my father's voice.
"Hi dad" I greet him.
"How are you? Is everything okay?" he asks.
"Everything is alright, what about you?" I ask him his question.
"I'm just fine, I miss you" he says. Honestly, I don't miss anyone and I'm not planning on doing that this early.
"Don't. Not now. I won't be there for a long time" I advice him.
"I don't think you understand" he chuckles.
"Listen, I want to get my car so maybe I will be there in 2 weeks" I expose my plan.
"That would be great" he says and remains silence for a few seconds.
"How is Elizabeth?" I ask about his wife. Even though she is a very sweet and nice woman, I will never consider her as my step mother because in my point of view, a person can only have one true mother and mine is unfortunately gone.
"She misses you as well" he responds.
"I will talk to you later dad, I'm on my way to a cinema with my friends" I inform him.
"Go have fun honey" he says.
"Thank you very much. Bye" I talk into the speaker. He says goodbye and hangs up. As I put my phone away, I notice Lana staring at me.
"That was my dad" I say and giggle assuming she wanted to know who I was talking to.
"How is he?" Ty asks.
"He said he misses me" I respond unrelatedly to his question.
"That is normal" he say and laughs.
"How much longer?" I ask the boys.
"Four minutes or so" Jace answers and looks at me in the rear-view mirror.
"Hand me the aux cable" I say and Ty gives it to me right away. I put the cable in my phone and connect it with the speaker. I scroll through one of my playlists and decide to put on a Travis Scott song. Lana smiles and starts bopping her head to the beat.
"I love this song" she comments.
"Who doesn't love Travis?" I ask. She laughs and I join her. We keep on lip syncing and singing when Jace parks the car in front of a huge cinema that has shiny lights all over it. We step out of the car and I take a look on the facility. There are posters with different movie names and dates on it.
"Let's go" Ty instructs and we walk inside. We stand in the line to buy tickets and snacks. In front of us is a couple.
"Tickets are on us" Ty turns to me.
"What? Dude, no" I protest.
"Yes" he smirks and doesn't give me chance to argue.
"Fine, I will get the snacks then" I make myself clear. "What do you want?" I ask him.
"Popcorn and coca cola" he answers.
"What do you want?" I ask Jace politely.
"Nachos with salsa dip and cola" he smiles and I nod. People in front of walk and we take two steps forward to the stand. Ty and Jace buy four tickets and make their way into the room.
"One medium popcorn with coca cola, one nachos with salsa dip and coca cola, one nachos with cheese dip and pepsi" I order and stop talking for a quick moment.
"What about you?" I ask Lana.
"I will take a snickers and a reese's bar" she says while smiling
Despite the fact that I ordered much food, I only waited a very less amount of time. I pay for the snacks and grab my food along with Jace's. Lana grabs the rest and we make our way to the room. It looks huge from the first sight. The room is pretty dark but there is enough light to see the enormous screen in the middle. I stark looking for the guys and notice them sitting in the middle of the fifth row. We go down the stairs and hand them their snacks before sitting down. I sit next to Jace and Lana takes a seat next to me. I start snacking on my nachos waiting for the movie to begin. Minutes later, more people enter the room and available seats decrease. Suddenly the big screen flashes and the movie starts. I put on my glasses and look forward. As time passes, the movie becomes more interesting. A little close to the end, Lana closes her eyes and almost falls asleep. The film ends after an hour and half and people exit. We stand up and make our way outside.
"So, how was it?" Jace asks me.
"It was good. I did enjoy it" I answer and smile.
"So, does this mean you will come her often?" Ty questions while smirking.
"Not necessarily" I look at him. Everybody giggles and a magnificent mood enters the atmosphere. After noticing the tiredness on Lana's and Ty's face, I suggest to go back to the campus. Everyone agrees with my idea and we head back. On the way, I realize how an incredible driver Jace is. I look out of the window and stare at the moon in the sky. As the engine stops, I see the familiar building and we step out of the car. I hug Lana and as she turns the other hallway that leads to her room. The boys follow me to my room and I thank them for the fun time.
"Coffee tomorrow?" Ty asks me.
"Of course, I wouldn't be able to live without it" I tell the truth in a funny way.
They say goodbye and head to their room. I change my clothes and wash my face before going to bed.
