from first love to worst heartbreak

Chapter 3

The next morning, I wake up at 9 AM. I look at my phone and see a missed call from my dad and a message from Ty. I first check Tys text.

*We'll meet you at 11 to go get coffee*

Shortly after I read the message, I take a quick shower. After I come out, I pick a nice outfit for the day. I decide to put on a black hoodie and jeans. Afterward, I put a little bit of makeup on and straighten my hair. Once Im done, it is already 10:40 AM. I suddenly remember that I have to call my dad back. He picks up on the second ring.

"Hi dad" I say into the speaker.

"Good morning, Bella" he sounds hyped.

"How are you?" I ask him.

"I'm fine honey, how about you? How was your day yesterday?" he questions.

"It went very well. We had lunch at an Italian restaurant and then we spent some time in the city" I explain.

"That sounds great. I'm very glad you had a great time. So, what are you going to do today?" he asks about my plans

"I'm actually not sure, I haven't planned anything for today, but I will go to a coffee shop in 20 minutes" I answer.

"Alone?" he sounds worried.

"No, Im going with Ty and his roommate Jace" I clarify.

"Is Jace a nice guy?" concern is clear in his voice.

"He is" I shortly answer because I never told my dad about him.

"Alright, well you have fun. I will call you again this evening, alright?" my father asks.

"Sure" I agree.

"Have a nice day honey. Love you" he exclaims.

"You too, bye" I hang up.

After noticing, that I only have ten minutes left, I call Amy, but as she doesn't pick up, I text her.

*Hi. Whats up? Call me as soon as you can* I send.

I go into my bathroom to look in the mirror when I hear a knock on the door. I open it and see Ty and Jace stand in front of me.

"Good morning" I greet them with a smiley face.

"Morning" Ty says and hugs me like always.

I hug him back and then hug Jace who is standing next to him. He hugs me back and I can smell his cologne from his neck. Ty has a grey t-shirt, jeans and some white sneakers on. Jace on the other hand is wearing a white shirt with grey trousers and black shoes.

"Are you ready?" my best friend asks while looking directly in my eyes.

"Of course. Lets go" I answer and get my bag from my bed.

We walk for 5 minutes and arrive at the coffee shop. The shop is little and cosy. Jace orders a latte macchiato and Ty buys a cup of coffee. I order my favourite drink, cappuccino. We collect our cups, pay for the drinks and sit down.

"So, what do you want to do today?" Ty asks me.

"I don't really know to be honest" I respond without a single idea in my mind. "I want to do something fun" I add.

"There is going to be a party tonight at Henry's" Jace shares.

"Oh yeah, I completely forgot" Ty exclaims.

"Who is Henry?" I ask them. I have never heard of him.

"It's this one guy from another campus close to ours" my best friend explains.

"Oh ok" I simply say. : So, you guys are going?" I seek.

Before Ty can say anything, Jace quickly says "only if you want to. I mean Ty and me have been to many parties and this one is going to be another regular party, so we'll do whatever you want to do" His voice is so oddly satisfying; I feel like I could listen to him talk for hours non-stop. I am glad to hear that he will do what I want to. That makes me feel more comfortable around him.

"You know what? I would actually love to go to a party. That would be my first one here. And besides, I would get to know new people" I tell them.

A party would be a great opportunity for me to make friends and I also want to have fun tonight.

"Great, it's settled then" Ty speaks. "When does it start?" he turns to Jace and waits for an answer.

"At 7" he answers in the shortest way possible. His right hand is resting on his cup.

"We have a lot of time till then" Ty states.

"You're right. Can we do something fun till we go there?" I question them.

"Whatever activity you name, we will do it" Jaces smile is bright.

"Let's go bowling or ice skating" I randomly say. These two activities may be known for being a couples thing but it is very fun to do with your friends.

"Alright then, Jace which one do you want to do?" Ty queries.

"Bowling sounds really bomb right now" Jace speaks. His choice of wording makes me smile.

"Same bro" my best friend agrees.

"Great, lets go bowling then" I sound very happy.

Jace drives us to a fancy bowling centre. We pay for our ticket and choose a rail. Before we start playing, I look at my phone screen and see a message from Amy.

*Sorry for the late answer, I had some stuff to do. I can call you in an hour. I cant wait to hear all the news from you*

"You guys, I'm going to beat both of you, you know that, right?" I tease with a smile. They both burst in laugh. An hour later, I get a high score and take over the first place.

"Dang, you're good" Ty's mouth is wide open.

"I know I am" I tease again. We all laugh again and exit the place.

After walking in a park for an hour, we decide on a place to eat and go to a diner. As we are sitting down, waiting for our food, my phone screen flashes and I see Amys name on it. I completely forgot that she was going to call me. Ty and Jace both look at me.

"I've got to take this" I say.

"Go ahead" Ty says and Jace smiles.
