"There was this one girl. I was 17 when I met her" he says. "Unfortunately, I fell in love with her and soon after, we got together. Our relationship was going really well until she tried to dump me just to be with one of my friends" he adds.
"That stinks. I'm sorry" I show sympathy. I really feel bad for him. That still doesn't explain why he got a tattoo for that.
"So, why did you get the tattoo then?" I ask.
"I regret falling in love" he sighs.
"Damn, you're really hurt, aren't you?" I question.
"I was. She just meant so much to me but I guess she didn't feel the same" he notes. "This is actually the first time I have ever talked about this to anyone" he adds. I can't believe he just told me one of his secrets.
"Really?" I ask in denial.
"Yeah, it is always kind of weird for me to talk about feelings" he states.
"Well, that makes the two of us" I say and we both start laughing. "How long were you guys together?" I ask.
"About half a year" he responds.
"Well, that was a waste of your time" I comment.
"Tell me about it" he says and chuckles. "Let's get you a drink" he offers.
"Sure" I say and we both stand up. We start walking towards the house and walk through the door. As we enter the living room, I see Jace shaking Ty, whose head is on a table. I immediately rush to him and put my cup down.
"What's wrong?" I ask Jace and look at Ty.
"He won't wake up. It all happened when the girl he was talking to left him" he informs me.
"How many drinks did he have?" I ask.
"I don't know, but not much to end up in this situation" he clarifies.
"Someone drugged him" I tell right away and look around the room.
"You think?" he questions and I nod. "This has never happened to anyone here" he adds. I see the worry on his face and try to come up with a solution for this riddle. I put two fingers on his wrist and start counting his heartbeat.
"He is alright, but he has been drugged with some strong stuff"I say. I have a feeling it could be Christina but I don't know her well enough to approve of my assumption. Her drunk behaviour near Henry seemed pretty fake to me. Thoughts surround my mind and I can't stop thinking about my theory. Finally, I snap out of my thoughts as Jace asks me what to do.
"Let's bring him to the car first and drive back to the campus. He will wake up after some time, he just needs to lay down for now" I say.
"Help me move him, he is completely numb" Jace asks for my help. I nod in response and slowly lift Ty's head and hold it in my hand while Jace grabs his arm and wraps it around his neck to get him up. I wrap one of my hands around his waist and we manage to get him out of the door. We walk him to the car and gently put him on the back seat.
"Let's go" Jace says and looks at me.
"Can you drive?" I ask him. He doesn't seem drunk, but I still need to know if he is able to take us back.
"Yeah, don't worry, I only had a beer" he assures me and I breathe in before sitting on the passenger seat. Jace starts the engine and slowly drives off the street. I roll down my window and the wind slowly blows on my face. While looking out of the window, I start thinking about Christina and the girl who was talking to Ty. She had blond hair, just like Christina but I didn't memorize her face.
"What are you thinking about?" Jace's deep voice interrupts my thoughts.
"This" I say and point at Ty. As I look at him, I see his head leaning against the seat and his mouth a little open.
"This is very strange" he notes as he is looking on the road.
"Who was the girl talking to him?" I question him.
"I think it was Dakota" he answers.
"Is she Christina's friend?" I ask right after.
"I'm not sure" he says. "Wait, you know Christina?" he asks surprised.
"Yeah, I met her in the kitchen. I grabbed a bottle of water and Henry came to talk to me and then she entered the room and threw herself on him, tried to kiss him and acted like she was drunk" I explain.
"She is such a..." he doesnt finish his sentence.
"I know, that's what I think of her too" I confirm.
"She is so annoying, I don't like her" he states.
"I think that she may be the one behind this thing" I claim.
"Really?" he is surprised by my assumption.
"Yeah, but I will figure it out" I assure him.
"How?" he wonders.
"You'll see" I say and look at him. After five minutes we arrive at the campus and help each other to get Ty out of the car and bring him into his room. Jace unlocks the door and we enter the room while holding Ty by his arms. We help him to lay down and sit on Jaces bed afterward.
"Are you going to stay?" Jace asks me and looks directly into my eyes.
"Of course I will" I respond. We need to give him some water I add. Jace nods and stands up from his bed to grab the water bottle from the table. He hands it to me and I thank him.
"Lift up his head and I'll try to give him the water" I order.
"Okay" he simply notes. After several tries of calling his name, he finally realizes and drinks a few sips.
