After taking approximately 6 shots, Jace takes a seat on the sofa and leans his head back.
"You are gone" I say and giggle.
"No shit" he answers and I burst in laughter. "Aren't you?" he asks.
"I'm fine, mate" I respond. After a minute of silence, I close my eyes and tend to relax. My body feels a little heavy and I am very tired. A while after, I open my eyes and take a look at my phone. The bright light shines right into my eyes and I squint to look at the blurry picture. I see phone calls and many text messages. I put my phone down, lean into Jace and tap on his shoulder.
"It's 1:20 AM" I inform him.
"Fantastic" he says ironically. His eyes are still closed and his head is leaned back.
"I'm going to drive" I suggest. I am more sober than him and therefore able to drive.
"No, you're not" he demands.
"That wasn't optional" I respond and raise an eyebrow. He opens his eyes and looks irritated at my face.
"Are you sure?" he asks.
"Positive" I smile. "We have to find Ty and Lana first" I change the subject.
"Let's go" he says and stands up. I get up as well and follow him into the main room. We look around for a while but they are nowhere to be seen.
"I'll check in the bathroom" I say. He nods and goes away to search for Ty. I enter the bathroom and see many girls in front of the mirror fixing their make-up and spraying perfume. The hot and stuffy air makes it hard to breathe. I start looking in the open stalls hoping Lana would be somewhere.
"Lana?" I ask loudly and feel weird looking eyes on me so I serve the girls a rather dangerous look.
"Lana?" I ask again only much louder this time. I kneel down to look in the closed stalls and see a familiar phone case on the floor.
"Lana, is that you?" I almost yell. She groans and I recognize her voice. Why is the door closed?
"Are you alright?" I ask.
"Yeah" she barely has the power to speak.
"I want out of here" she demands. I want to ask where Ty is and why she is lying on the floor right now but she sounds like she wouldn't have the energy to do so.
"The door is closed" I inform her.
"How the fuck?" she sounds confused.
"I'll kick it open" I tell her and she bursts out of laughter. "You good?" I question.
"Did you say you were going to kick the door open?" she keeps on giggling.
"Yes" I shortly answer.
"How about you don't hurt me?" she arrogantly asks.
"How about I pull you by your legs and you mop the dirty floor? Would you like that?" I ask annoyed.
"That would be better" she laughs.
"If you say so" I sigh. I pull her out of the stall. I give her my hand and she reaches for them.
"What were you doing in there?" I ask her.
"What do you do in the bathroom?" she replies.
"Where is Ty?" I change the topic.
"I don't know" she smiles.
"What do you mean you don't know? Weren't you two together all the time?" I try to get answers.
"We were, but then he just went away and I couldn't find him" she barely pronounces the words fully. I look at her with a rather speechless face expression but she keeps smiling. Without thinking any further, I look at her one last time and turn around to exit the bathroom.
"Where are you going?" I hear Lana's high heals hammer the ground.
"To find Jace and Ty" I keep walking. The noisy atmosphere approaches me as I enter the enormous room with people dancing and screaming. I look around the room but it becomes impossible to find the boys anywhere as the dimm lights and loud crowd block my way. I reach for my phone and call Jace but he doesn't answer. Where should I look for them? I can't go into the boys' bathroom, if that's where they are right now.
"What do we do now?" Lana is clueless.
"Let's get out of here" I say. She nods and starts stepping towards the door. We make our way out of the disco and walk a couple of steps away from the bouncer. The wind gently blows on my bare arms and I get chills all over my body. Suddenly, the vibration of my phone interrupts me from my thoughts. I look at the screen and see Jace's name. I immediately take the call.
"Where are you?" his deep voice distracts me.
"We are outside, waiting for you. Did you find him?" I ask.
"I did. We'll come outside right away" he informs me.
"Good" I simply say and end the call. Tonight wasn't as much fun as I wished it would be. Next time I'll just go alone and have fun by myself. A minute later Jace and Ty exit through the door and start walking towards us.
"What's up?" Ty asks. His breath smells like vodka and it makes me almost puke.
"Nothing" I say and look at Jace. "Should we go?" it sounds like I'm asking the whole group but my eyes are concentrated on Jace only.
"Yes" he quickly replies.
We walk to the car and Jace hands me the keys. I start the engine and in a matter of seconds, I get out of the parking lot. The fifteen minute drive felt like an hour as I almost fell asleep multiple times but Jace kept me a company. We arrive and stop the car right in front of the campus.
"Yo go with them. I will return right after parking" I tell Jace.
"You sure?" he asks, hesitating to open the door.
"Absolutely" I assure him with a smile.
Jace, Ty and Lana get out the car and disappear in the dark of the night. I find a space in the parking lot and take it before anyone else gets the chance to. I press the button on the key and the car automatically locks its doors. Just as I was about to head to the campus, I hear foot steps and whispering nearing to my direction from the dark. As the voices get louder and clearer, I am able to differ between a man and a woman's voice. The clicking of high heels on the concrete gets louder and the sound manages to give me a headache.
"Let go off me, you bastard!" I hear a high pitched voice. For a quick second, I feel like I have heard that voice before. I see two bodies approaching me. It's when they step in the light that I see their faces.
Is my vision blurry or do I see the persons correctly?
