"Wait for me to put her down somewhere" he asks while holding the girl.
"Okay" I say and simply nod. He helps her walk and leads her through the door. I look at my phone to check the time and notice that I have been here for almost an hour. I wonder why Henry told me to wait for him. What does he want to talk about? As I tap on the snapchat notifications on my phone, I smell a cologne and lift up my head.
"You're back" I say as if I was surprised.
"Yeah, sorry about that. That's just how Christina always is" he explains her behaviour.
"Christina I whisper. Is she your girlfriend?"I ask, knowing what the answer probably will be.
"What? No. She is just a friend" he answers surprised.
"I just assumed, because she tried to kiss you" I tell the reason behind my question.
"I know. That's how she behaves after a drink" he smirks.
"I figured" I smile and he giggles.
"Do you want to get out of here?" he asks me after a quick moment of silence. I don't know how to answer. Should I agree? Should I deny his offer? I just met him and dont really know who he is. He could be up to anything. After a moment of thinking, I decide to go with him. He seems like a nice person and I don't want to turn him down.
"Sure, just let me go tell Jace and Ty" I feel the need to inform them.
"Okay I'm waiting" he says. I make my way through the hallway and enter the living room. I start looking for the only two familiar faces and spot Ty talking to a girl. Jace is sitting on a chair with a beer in his one hand and his phone in the other. He lifts his head up and immediately sees me. A quick moment later, he stands up and starts walking towards me.
"Where were you?" he asks right away.
"I was in the kitchen" I answer and he keeps looking at me like he wants to know why it took me long to get back.
"Alright" he says and puts his beer down on the table. "What are you doing now?" he questions me while I grab a new cup and pour rosé in it.
"I'm going outside with Henry" I inform him.
"With Henry?" he asks lifting one eyebrow.
"Yeah" I mumble. I want to ask him if he wants to come, but I think Henry wanted to talk to me, alone, so, I turn around and walk out of the room. Henry is leaning against a wall and looking at his phone screen. He looks up and sees me straight away.
"Let's go" he says and starts walking towards the door. I follow him out the door and stop by a bench in the back yard. We sit down beside each other and look up to the sky.
"I like your yard" I compliment.
"Thanks" he giggles.
"Tell me about yourself" I say randomly and look at him.
"Sure" he laughs. "I'm originally from America. I'm 19 and I am in my second year of engineering science" he adds.
"What about you? Whats your story?" he asks.
"Well, Im 18 and I will be studying economics and management" I begin to speak. "I'm from London, it's only a one-hour drive from here" I share the additional information.
"Cool" he remarks.
"America, huh? Why do you go to Oxford when you could be going to Harvard or Yale or some other university? Dont get me wrong, I am not saying that Oxford is bad because it is the number one university in the world. But why did you leave America?" I try to clarify and ask another question.
"I guess I just needed space. Space from everything and everyone" he starts talking.
"Why? What happened?" curiosity gets the best of me.
"My parents are just so controlling and I felt like they had my life planned. I felt like a puppet that was controlled by them. I wanted to prove that I don't always need their help and that I am capable of deciding on my own" he opens up. His pupil widens a little as he talks. While listening, I drink up the wine and hold the cup with both hands.
"Well, I can tell that you succeeded" I note and smile as he looks at me. Henry takes a look at my cup and notices that it is empty.
"I think I did" he confirms. "Do you want another drink?" he asks. I do, but I still want to ask him about his tattoo so I deny his offer and tell him that I will grab one later.
"Can I ask you something?" I finally encourage myself to ask.
"Sure" he nods.
"Do you speak Italian?'' I wonder.
"A little bit. I only know how to present myself in two or three sentences and that's it" he answers. Why is the word tattooed in Italian, if he doesn't even speak the language fluently?
"Why do you have the word regret tattooed in Italian then?" I curiously ask.
"You speak Italian?" he questions with a surprised face.
"Yes, I do" I simply answer and wait for his response.
"I don't want people to question me about it, so I got in in a different language" he explains.
"Smart thinking, but try Japanese next time" I tease and we both start laughing. "So, what do you regret?" I ask after we have both finished laughing.
"Can I trust you?" he asks. His question makes me a little bit nervous. What if its a secret he has never told anyone? I try to erase the question out of my head and concentrate on my response.
"Of course" I reply.
