Chapter 5

We arrive at the campus an hour and half before the party starts. Ty and Jace go to their room and I go to mine. I unlock the door and put my bag down on my bed. Then I sit on my bed and check my phone for new messages. There are no necessary ones, so I put my phone away, lie down and close my eyes. I wonder how the party is going to be. Despite the fact that I have been to many parties before, I don't know what to expect from this one. I hope to meet new people and enjoy my time. Excitement surrounds my body and I finally stand up after lying down for 10 minutes. Soon, I pick out my outfit and put it on before fixing my makeup. I decide to wear a red crop top with jeans and white sneakers. After changing into my clothes, I fix my makeup. I put on a little bit of blush and mascara. Immediately after, I take out a bracelet, two rings, a necklace, and put them on. Finally, I put on some perfume and realize that it only took me twenty minutes to get ready, which leaves me enough time to get bored alone in my room. I decide to text Ty to ask him if we can hang out.

*Im ready now. Can I come?* I send the message.

*Yeah, sure. Come in* he responds nearly two minutes after.

I think about taking my bag but I don't want to carry it around me, Im sure my phone is the only item I need. I grab my phone and keys and leave my room. Less than a minute later, I arrive at Ty's room and knock twice on the door. Jace opens the door.

Hi he says while smiling at me.

Hey I greet him and enter the room. Are you guys ready? I ask him.

I am but Ty is still working on his look he grins.

So, youre telling me I take less time to get ready than he does? I joke.

Yeah, exactly he laughs.

Jace is wearing a black shirt and jeans. His hair is messy but it still looks like as if it was done by a professional hairstylist. The first two buttons of his shirt are open and his sleeves are almost rolled up to his elbow.

What are you two laughing about? Ty comes out of the bathroom while running his fingers through his gelled hair. He is wearing a simple white t-shirt and black jeans.

You I tease him.

I see he laughs and grabs his bottle of water.

We still have 30 minutes left till the party starts. What should we do? I ask them.

Henry's house is a 10-minute drive from here. We could walk if you want Jace offers me.

No, its alright, we can drive I answer. Lets go outside then I suggest.

Good idea. We are ready anyway. Jace approves my idea.

Hold on Ty says and rushes into the bathroom to look in the mirror.

Dude, you look fine, come on now Jace sounds annoyed. I laugh at his words and he does too. He is right though, Ty looks incredible, yet he has to check himself out a dozen times. Jace grabs his phone and keys as Ty does the same. We leave the room and Jace locks the door. While heading towards outside, I quickly look at my phone and see a message from Amy.

*Dont forget to have fun and call me after the party* is what Amy texted me.

*I will, no worries* I type and tap the send button on my screen.

Who are you texting? Ty questions with a smirk on his face.

Its Amy. She just told me to have fun I respond.

Right he mumbles. As the wind blows against my skin, I notice that we are already outside. The weather is cool and the smooth wind is refreshing. We walk around the block for ten minutes and suddenly I am interrupted by Jace's deep voice.

Its already time, guys he announces and looks at his phone.

Lets go then Ty tells him. We start walking towards his car and reach it nearly after five minutes. He has a black Hyundai which looks like a sportscar. We step into his car and he drives off to our destination. I look out of the window most of the time and observe the streets.

We're here Jace informs me. Was the ride really ten minutes long? As I was drawn to my thoughts the whole ride, I didn't realize how much it took us to get here.
