It was nearing the end of Winter term, the last few days slowly rolling by. Sarah found herself and Capri walking to class together.
"So, why are you leaving early?" Sarah asked Capri as they took a turn into the court yard.
The sky was overcast and dark. Sarah could guess that it would rain soon. She'd been hoping for snow, but to no avail it seemed there wouldn't be a white Christmas at Hogwarts this year.
"How do you know about that?" Capri turned to Sarah, her blonde hair flying behind her.
"George. He won't stop whining about how he's going to miss you - " Sarah replied, the sound of their footfall on the cobblestone echoed across the court yard.
" - Oh, stop!" Capri laughed, a flustered smile appearing on her face.
They walked around the fountain statue, the gurgling of running water pleasing Sarah's ears.
"It's true! I think he's in love with you," Sarah continued, sincerely.
Capri stopped walking, but Sarah hadn't. It took the taller of the two to notice Capri completely frozen at the entrance of the corridor.
"That's not something you should joke about," Capri told her with a frown.
Sarah smiled in spite of herself, "Who said I was joking?"
Capri sighed, catching up with Sarah, "You're being serious? Like actually?"
Sarah nodded enthusiastically, "Yeah. I genuinely believe he's in love with you."
Capri groaned, once again coming to a stop in the corridor.
"You know, Capri, at this rate, we're going to be late for Transfiguration," Sarah told her with a smile.
Capri rolled her eyes at that, "Since when did you care about that?"
Sarah considered this a for a moment, before shrugging her shoulders, "Good point. So, why is this love thing bothering you so much?"
Capri ran a hand through her hair, "It's just that - well - how do I tell him that I love him back?"
Sarah beamed, "I can't give you advice on that. It'll just happen, you know?"
Capri's lips quirked up at this, "Remind me never to come to you for advice again."
"Hey! - Hey, listen, okay? You've just got to spit it out and tell him, you know! There's no need for rose petal on a bed, or... or - I don't know - all I do know is George is all about simplicity when it comes to relationships," Sarah grabbed Capri's arm before she walked away.
Capri nodded, "That was better advice."
"I can give good advice, okay?" Sarah yelled to Capri in frustration, whilst Capri laughed.
After having calmed down, Capri said, "You know, I still haven't answered your question from earlier."
Sarah's brain took a moment to catch on, "Oh yeah! So, why are you leaving early?"
"So, like a month ago I went for a wandless magic lesson, but Umbridge and Fudge were in Dumbledore's office too chatting shit about the school. I don't want them to know about my wandless magic because then they'll ban me from doing it, so I made up this bullshit excuse that I came to Dumbledore's office to ask for permission to leave a few days early so I could attend a wedding," Capri rambled. Sarah listened patiently.
"Oh, so you have to leave to sell a lie?" Sarah replied, after considering Capri's words.
Capri nodded.
