Sarah, despite enjoying Quidditch very much, was regretting agreeing to the pre-Valentines match with her friends. With Mrs Weasley's permission, the group was soaring about the Burrow's pasture in the freezing February wind.

Sarah would have cast a warming charm on herself, but the game became so fast-paced that she didn't have time to withdraw her wand.

Oliver Wood was her team captain. He had Fred as a beater, Alicia and Sarah as chasers, and Spike as a seeker. The opposing team was led by Angelina, who was playing as a chaser alongside Capri. Lee was their keeper, whilst George was their beater, and River was their seeker.

Angelina held the quaffle and soared past Sarah with practised ease. Sarah pushed forward on her broom to catch up with her, but it was a struggle. Sarah did have a better model of broom, but that only took you so far. Skill outweighed broom quality in most circumstances, and Sarah was really seeing that now.

Alicia was close behind, laughing as she zoomed around Capri. The blonde was the most wobbly on her broom out of all of them, but Sarah applauded her bravery for even attempting to play.

Fred, who was soaring down the right wing of the pitch, hit a well aimed bludger at Angelina, causing her to drop the quaffle. The bludgers they were using were sponge balls with enchantments on them, belonging to the Weasley family. They were good for friendly games.

Sarah grabbed the quaffle and quickly spun to head in the direction of Lee, who was guarding the goal hoops. They were hoola-hoops enchanted to stay in the air.

Sarah passed to Alicia, but Angelina intercepted. She passed to Capri, who immediately raced away. With some practice, Capri would've made a decent player.

Angelina caught up with Capri, who passed the quaffle back. As Angelina aimed for the goal hoops, marked by Oliver, George aimed a bludger. Oliver dodged the bludger but missed the quaffle.

Angelina cheered, "You're getting rusty in your old age, Wood!"

Wood flipped her off with a grin.

The game continued, with their seekers zipping around above them. The snitch was also an old item belonging to the Weasleys, so it was slower than a usual snitch would be. However, it was probably for the best, seeing as their seekers weren't actually very good either.

Eventually, River managed to catch the snitch, causing Angelina's team to win by a landslide. Sarah was glad the game was over, as her hands were freezing.

Sarah landed on the grass and stepped off her broom. The others landed, too, all with varying degrees of confidence.

"You know, Ange, all that training you've done with Wood has really paid off." Alicia commented. "You're unstoppable!"

Angelina smiled bashfully, "I'm glad you can see the difference. You know what Oliver is like. He's a tough teacher."

"What was that?" Oliver asked in his Scottish drawl, as he, alongside Fred and George, approached the girls.

"We were just discussing how well you've trained up Angie," Sarah told him.

Oliver smiled, "My experience as a pro-player does help. I know what those harpies will be looking for."

Oliver was referring to the Holyhead Harpies, the team Angelina would be trying out for in a weeks time.

"It's good you got your training in now, you know." Spike said as him, River and Lee joined their huddle. "What with the Ministry allowing for Quidditch events to start up again."

Sarah frowned at that, "It is good timing, although I'm a little wary at starting up big events again. They are prime targets for Death Eater activities."
