Sarah woke up to Alicia's excited squeal. She sat up groggily, eyeing the girl with annoyance. Sarah glanced at the other girls to see them in the same position.
"I was lucid dreaming. It was so weird," Patricia told them, whilst Sarah kicked back her covers.
"What's that?" Angelina asked, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.
"It's when you can control your dreams because you know you're dreaming - " Patricia replied, rolling out of bed. They were interrupted by another loud squeak from Alicia.
"What?" Angelina snapped, her eyebrows furrowed.
Alicia was holding a note and a rose, her eyes wide and her hands trembling.
"He sent me a rose," Alicia whispered, looking as if she was about to faint.
"Who?" Patricia scrambled towards Alicia, snatching the note from her hand.
"River Parkes!" Patricia announced, wiggling her eyebrows suggestively. Sarah and Angelina laughed.
"Oh - Oh, shut up, you lot!" Alicia stammered, snatching back her note.
"Hey! Presents!" Angelina gasped, scrambling out of bed. Patricia had the largest pile, with presents form her family in Puerto Rico. Alicia had the second most largest pile, which was majority from her grandparents in South Korea. Then it was Angelina who had presents from her parents and friends. Sarah was last, with presents only from the girls and some other Hogwarts friends. Nonetheless, she was incredibly thankful.
"I forgot it was Christmas!" Sarah gasped, as she unwrapped her first present.
Angelina had got Sarah a new set of Makeup Brushes, whilst Patricia got her a multipack or earrings. Alicia had gifted her a hairbrush that was charmed to make your hair straight. River got her a book titled 'How the Muggles affected Wizarding Pop Culture', whilst Spike had given her some Punch Presecco. Sarah couldn't lie, hie present made her laugh. George had gifted her Cauldron Cakes, whilst Fred got her Bertie Bott's flavoured beans.
There was a little note attached to the packet, which made Sarah's heart ache; 'Sorry I couldn't get you something more special for our first Christmas as a couple. We'll have next year...'.
There was on more present, which Sarah discovered was from Mr and Mrs Weasley. Her heart swelled as she pulled out a cerulean knit jumper, with a silver S embroidered in. There was also some Mince Pies and a note, "You probably weren't expecting this, so sorry for giving you a fright! We can't wait to see you again, hopefully next summer. Love from Mr and Mrs Weasley.
After thanking the girls for their gifts, Sarah got dressed, whilst the others continued to chat. She decided to pull on the woolly jumper Mrs Weasley has knit for her.
"Sarah, its only 7am, you can have a lie in," Angelina told her, her eyebrows furrowed. She'd scurried back to bed.
Sarah glanced at the clock, letting a sigh, "Oh, you're right. I'm dressed now, anyway. I'll see you later."
"Alright, bye," The girls called as Sarah walked out of the room.
Sarah straightened her parting by raking her fingers through her hair as she trotted down the steps. It was quiet in the Common room, empty with the exception of Fred, George and Lee.
"Sarah! Blimey - " Fred gasped, as she approached. She would've left them alone if they hadn't been acting so strangely, or stuffing things hastily into their pockets.
"Merry Christmas, all. Why are you awake so early?" Sarah asked the three boys, crossing her arms over her chest. They looked far too guilty to leave them now.
