Sarah woke with a start, still in her uniform from yesterday. she was uncomfortable, having slept in a strange position.
She must've also forgotten to put the flask away, as she could feel it weighing down the side of her robes. She shrugged off the robes, which smelt distinctively of lavender.
The nearest clock said 10:50, which means its just gone break. Her heart began to beat rapidly, realising she'd missed Transfiguration and Music. She groaned, pushing herself from her bed and got ready.
She put on some fresh new uniform, leaving the ones she'd slept in crumpled and on her bed. She always told herself that she'd tidy them up later, but she never did.
She hurried out the Gryffindor's common room, heading to the Grand Staircase. Near the bottom of the staircase, her0 friends were just making their way down.
"Guys?!" she called out, causing them to turn their heads. They rushed over to her, looking slightly concerned.
"Are you feeling better? We saw you sleeping this morning and didn't have the heart to wake you.." Patricia trailed off, clutching her books to her chest.
"I'm fine. Did I miss anything?" Sarah asked, beginning to walk alongside them to the Dungeons.
"Well, Fred and George locked Malfoy in the closet near charms -" Angelina began.
" - We did indeed!" Fred exclaimed, appearing behind them suddenly. The girls jumped, before laughing it off. Angelina's eyes widened.
"The look in his eyes was priceless when McGonagall asked him why he was in the closet," George continued, far more relaxed than Fred was.
"AW! I can't believe I missed this," Sarah groaned, frowning.
"Oh, yeah! Speaking of that, hope you're feeling better - " Fred chimed, draping an arm around her shoulders.
" - and that extra sleep you had gave you an insight on that prank we must pull," George, once again, finished Fred's sentence as if it were planned.
"Thanks, guys! And, just so you know, it did," Sarah whispered the last bit, causing Fred and George to beam with pride.
Sarah was lying, but was hoping the incentive would inspire her in some way.
Unfortunately, break ended, meaning that Fred, Angelina, George, Alicia and Sarah were to head to Potions. The lesson that took place in the dingy dungeons would've been far better if Snape didn't verbally abuse them all, but there they were.
Sarah walked in, sliding into a desk alongside Alicia and Angelina. There was a spare seat next to Angelina that a Ravenclaw student took. Seeing as this was a NEWT class, and that Snape only accepted O's, the class was small.
"Today, there will be practical!" Snape slurred from the front of the class, causing Sarah to grin.
Once everyone was seated, Snape began.
"Today, you will be producing A draught of Living death potion, which I will be examining closely," Snape began, scribbling the page number on the board.
"This is going to be fun," Sarah whispered to Angelina, who didn't look entirely happy to be in the Potion's classroom.
"I don't even know what that is. I don't even know why I'm in this class," She replied, squinting at the blackboard.
Snape chucked the chalk at Angelina and Sarah, which they narrowly dodged. The sound of the chalk hitting the dungeon wall made the entire class jump. They glanced between the wall covered in white powder and the Professor, who committed the murder of the chalk.
