Sarah woke up on December 4th with a sneeze. She sat up in bed, reaching for a tissue from her night stand. Her eyes were closed as she blew her nose.
Eventually, she opened her eyes.
Filling her dormitory to the brim, there was bouquets and bundles of flowers, vines and various plants. They varied from the flowers the size of her palm, to aloe Vera plants that could rival Patricia's floor to ceiling mirror.
Sarah pushed her covers off and with a cry, narrowly avoiding stepping on a cactus.
Hastily, she pushed some plants and flowers to the side so that she could actually stand on the floor.
She stared at the her dorm for a moment. It looked as if their furniture was swimming in a sea of nature. Oddly enough, Sarah quite liked the look of the room with some plants in there.
Her shout from earlier seemed to have woken up the girls. They all sat up in their beds, with messy hair and heavy-lidded eyes.
"Merlin's pants!" Alicia exclaimed, reaching down the side of her bed for a bouquet of hydrangea.
Angelina turned to Sarah, who was the only one stood up, "Did you do this?"
Patricia, who was clutching an bundle of hyacinths, said, "Very romantic of you, I must say!"
"It wasn't - " Sarah turned to the side to sneeze, " - me."
"Wait, are you allergic to flowers?" Alicia asked.
Sarah shook her head, "No. I just get bad hay fever. Madam Pomfrey usually gives me a potion to sort it out. It must be all the pollen in here."
"Oh, look! There's a note on that cactus plant!" Patricia pointed to a rather tall cactus plant in the middle of the room.
Sarah reached for her wand, "Accio."
As the note zoomed into Sarah's hand, Patricia whined, "That's cheating! I wanted to see you wade through the sea of flowers."
Sarah laughed as she opened the note.
"What does it say?" Angelina asked.
"Dear Sarah,
I couldn't remember which flower was your favourite, so I got you all of them.
Happy anniversary. I love you,
Fred," Sarah finished, a smile lighting up her face.
"This gesture is lovely from Fred, but how am I supposed to get out of bed and getting ready for school?" Alicia asked, laughing.
Sarah laughed too, "Of course Fred would prank us on our anniversary. How very fitting."
After clearing a path to the bathroom, out the dorm and surrounding their beds, Sarah managed to pull herself together for lessons.
Having lessons on your anniversary was disappointing, but Fred had made sure his plans were clear for the evening.
She jogged down the steps, bumping straight into Fred.
"Took you long enough," Fred said, a grin appearing on his face.
Sarah rolled her eyes at this, "Oh, I'm sorry, I was just clearing a path of bouquets to get to my bathroom."
Fred laughed, before pulling Sarah in by the waist. It seemed he didn't particularly care for the people around them heading for breakfast.
He kissed her, and it reminded her a lot of their first kiss in the owlery, well except for the fact that this time, Sarah wasn't crying.
