During a theory lesson of Sport, the ones that bored Sarah the most, she found herself writing notes to Fred Weasley. The redhead was sat right next to her, crammed into a broom closet sized classroom. As Professor Bobes droned on about bones and such, she was having the most animated conversation with her neighbour without having spoken a word.
The notes were silly. They could've been a burn book on Fred's behalf, as he had a lot to say about some of the Professors. Funnily enough, Professor Snape seemed to be a mildly interesting topic between both Fred and Sarah as they enjoyed telling stories of their detentions with him.
Eventually, the noise in the room rose to a level where Fred and Sarah could whisper excitedly to each other. They were more than happy to do so, as their wrists were beginning to ache and Sarah only had one more parchment sheet left.
"First detention I had with Snape for stealing powdered buttercups, then the second was for his scales - " Sarah counted off on my fingers, glancing at Fred every so often.
" - Wait. You stole some scales from Snape? Wasn't there anything interesting in there?" Fred asked, squinting at me.
"See, that's the thing. There wasn't anything interesting. But the scales were made of pure gold so i made a grab for them," Sarah replied, causing Fred's eyes to go as wide as saucers.
"No way! Pure gold?" Fred asked.
"Yeah, I think. Got caught though. It's quite easy to find someone that stole a pair of noisy, gold scales," Sarah wondered aloud.
"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Fred asked randomly.
"Probably not, but go on,"
"So, we should set up some sort of prank," Fred explained. Sarah nodded.
"Sound. But do you have any ideas?" Sarah asked, twisting her quill in circles.
"Well, I was going to ask you that," Fred replied, leaning back in his chair.
Sarah glanced between him and their parchment full of notes, trying her hardest to think of something. She had ideas for other things, but this one seemed rather difficult.
"Struggling?"
"A little," Sarah mumbled, playing with a loose thread on her sleeve.
As Professor Bobes went on about collapsing due to lack of oxygen, the idea popped into her head. She grinned, knowing exactly how she could get Fred and George off her back until she could think of something.
"Give me some time to think, yeah?" Sarah whispered, a wide smile on her face. Fred grinned, fist-bumping her with excitement.
"This sounds crazy, Sarah," Angelina told her, who was scribbling away at some parchment.
"Hmm?" Sarah turned to Angelina, who had her arms crossed over her chest. She didn't look particularly upset, but seemed rather concerned.
"Don't act like you don't know what I'm on about," Angelina said, narrowing her eyes at Sarah.
"But I have no clue what you're on about," Sarah replied with a small laugh, which most wouldn't do when faced with Angelina Johnson. She didn't faze her though, as she could see straight through the toughness.
"Yes, you do! You're pranking with the Weasley twins and Lee Jordan," Angelina was quickly becoming frustrated, which made Sarah smile slightly.
"What? I wonder what made you think that?" Sarah replied, her voice layered thick with sarcasm. Angelina rolled her eyes.
