Confession

"That was rude, Kuya Vince!" Irita kong sigaw bago hinabol si Sean. He left me with Kuya Vince but only after staring at me for a full minute.

I don't even have any idea where he is right now!

I checked first our bedroom pero wala siya doon. Sumunod sa office niya pero ganoon din.

We only have a few second gap kaya alam kong hindi siya makakababa agad mula sa floor na ito. The last room would be my last choice, kapag wala siya dito ay ibig sabihin mali ako sa iniisip na hindi siya agad nakababa.

Huli kong pinuntahan ang recreational room ko at doon ko siya nakita. He was looking at the scenery outside the window with both of his hands placed on the window space.

I mentally sighed in relief. But that vanished right after I remembered the previous encounter with him. I suddenly don't have any idea on how to approach him.

I played the safest card.

I slowly walked towards him pero napatigil nang magsalita siya. "What were you doing here? Thought you were still busy back there." His cold voice sent shivers to my spine, hindi ako sanay na ganito siya sa akin.

His voice was always comforting and soothing. To hear his voice like this... I don't know what to feel. Parang may mali na gusto ko itama.

Is he mad? Because of Kuya Vince? Sabi na eh! He was too rude! Ngayon ako tuloy ang nahihirapan harapin si Sean.

"I... uhm... do you want to be alone?" i asked carefully.

Humarap siya sa akin matapos ang tanong na iyon. When he looked at our distance, he sighed. Lumambot din ang expression ng mukha niya bago itinukod ang kamay sa likod kung saan siya nakahawak kanina.

"Are you done with your talk with him?"

Him? Napatulala ako kay Sean nang sabihin niya iyon. Then I remembered he haven't met Kuya Vince dahil kakabalik lang nito.

"That man..." tinuro ko ang likod ko na parang nandon si Kuya. "He was my Uncle... sort of."

Tumaas ang kilay ni Sean sa akin. "Sort of?"

"I mean, he is my uncle but I treat him as my older brother. Malaki kasi ang age gap nila ni Mama kaya hindi ko siya matawag na Uncle."

Tumango si Sean sa akin. "He is Elise's friend as far as I know. This is my first time meeting him since I wasn't introduced to him by Elise."

I know. Kuya Vince and Elise are close to each other. Madalas magkasama sila pero mas marami ang pagkakataon na kasama ni Kuya si Ate Amara.

Sensing his calm aura, unti unti akong lumapit sa kaniya. Natawa siya sa akin at hinila ako papalapit sa kaniya. And because he was leaning on the window, he has the force to drag me to his position.

"You aren't mad anymore." It's a statement because I wasn't asking him.

He nodded. "I can't be mad. No, I don't want to be mad. Masyadong nakakapanakit ang lagay na iyon."

That's why he is collected at all times. Isn't tiring? To be calm and collected even though you want to burst our your frustration?

I really can't be like him.

"Anyway, why were you looking for me?"

Napatigil siya sa pagsuklay ng buhok ko dahil sa tanong ko. Mukhang nakalimutan na din niya ang dahilan bakit niya ako hinahanap.
