Chapter Nineteen

Freedom

"You sure you won't regret this decision, Blaire?" Dusk's voice filled the room.

Doctors said there's a possibility of him... having amnesia. It's just a possibility, they say, but that didn't lessen my worries at all.

Bumuntong-hininga ako bago sumagot kay Dusk. "I want to... but every time I think about her safety, it justifies my decision. It was like she lost a battle."

"Of course, she lost the battle. Hearing her dearest sister saying abandoning her, who won't be broken by that?"

"Are you siding her, Dusk?"

Dusk chuckled. "Are you seriously asking me that, Blaire? No, I'm not, okay? You can't expect her to come up with a proper response. Her head's in turmoil and her emotions are disoriented."

"How did you know?" I asked and sat on the couch in front of Dusk.

"Because she just walked pass by me," he said, shrugging. "It's given na hindi niya na ako naalala lalo na bata pa siya noong huli ko siyang nakita but damn, her lifeless face was too much. I can't see the Aivie I knew anymore."

Natahimik ako sa sinabi ni Dusk. I know my words somehow affected Aivie mentally. I was anchor... yet I abandoned her. It must have caused her trauma.

"Anyway, where are you sending her?"

I crossed my arms and stared at him. "Where do you think?"

"Oh no... that look. Sa amin nanaman?! Blaire, come on, hindi rehabilitation area ang lugar namin."

"What? Province is the best place for her, hindi siya pwede sa Capital dahil madami panigurado ang maghahanap sa kaniya sa oras na malaman nila na kasangkot siya sa aksidente."

Dusk sighed.

"That's the point, Dusk Augustus! Not because I told I would abandon her ay tuluyan ko na siyang bibitawan. You know I can't do that, not to her."

I know Aivie made a horrible mistake and I should not try a blind eye to it as a Queen of the West. But I am her sister and that role of mine comes before anything else.

That's for sure.

"When will you send her?" Dusk asked kaya napangiti ako.

He really can't stand us. He was my bestfriend since then and he always got my back kaya alam kong mapagkakatiwalaan ko siya. "I told her to wait for me at home bago umalis. At least, we have to part ways without harboring hate to one another."

"I wonder what Aivie saw in him."

"Angel."

"Huh?" Lumingon sa akin si Dusk.

"I may be her anchor but Sean is different. He made her feel different emotions that are foreign to her. Happiness... Hope... while I was able to only let her feel..." huminto ako sa pagsasalita dahil wala along madugtong.
