(short chapter)

"Okay, to get the next chapter, I'm going to need 10 votes and 5 comments."

THAT. IS. RUDE.

Alright, I'm aware that you're super stoked that people are reading your story, and you want it to gain more popularity. That's understandable; it's every writer's dream to have a popular book.

Demanding comments and votes in order to "motivate" you isn't the way to do it.

Personally? I'm honoured that people read my stories. Any time that I see that I've gained a few reads, I become ridiculously excited. Why?
Because it makes me feel like I'm good at what I do.
You readers motivate me to write more, because I don't want to let you down.
I'm floored that I have people that call themselves my fans.
I've never bluntly demanded of readers to do something in order to get the next part to the story they're reading.
That's rude, mate.
