I have been inspired by sleepystyles- in this rant. However, mine is over a broad spectrum of fandom related fics.
- The shower scenes are more detailed than the scenes that matter
I find it extremely frustrating when you click on a good looking fic, get really into the detail, and then realize that it's only detailed when the main girl is in the shower.
The most tender and romantic points are like a paragraph in length, but the scent of her shampoo and how the water "cascades down her arms like a waterfall" goes on,
And on,
And on,
For an entire chapter.
- When the guy cheats, and she completely bypasses it.
This pisses me off so much.
The OC will discover that her boyfriend has cheated on her, normally MULTIPLE TIMES, with her best friend or something.
And she's upset for like a chapter, and then he performs this giant, ridiculously cheesy act of an apology, and she's fine.
Because she loves him.
Im sorry to be an asshole here, but I cannot stand a cheater. If you do, and not just in sex, but in any way, to me you are a low person.
You do not deserve to be forgiven.
You made the conscious choice to be with someone else behind your significant other's back.
I do not care how much I love someone. If they cheat, we're DONE.
And Im not normally one to push my views, but that one is one I will recommend to everyone.
- The seemingly plotted story is all smut.
Okay, I am all for a person making a book of one-shot smut stories.
I'll probably read it, because I'm lame and have nothing else to do.
But please,
Please,
Please,
Please,
Do NOT put your story synopsis as something that eludes to it having a plotted story.
It is extremely frustrating when you find one you like, start reading, and see that the chapters are not connected.
Especially when the author doesn't name the chapters.
You just see like "1,2,3,4,5" and nowhere in the title or Bio does it say that there is NO. MAIN. PLOT.

This was a lot less comical than I was shooting for, but I got legitimately heated whilst writing this.
Hopefully I'll update a bit less sporadically from now on.
I keep forgetting I have this book.
So, possibly prepare for a plethora of updates :P
