Misty

"Babe?"

"Mmm?" I looked over my shoulder.

"You got the list?"

"Yeah." I wiped my hands. "Here you go."

Handing him the grocery list, he kissed me.

"I'll be back. Where the girls at?"

"By the pool."

"Okay cool. When you're finished, can you get the grill going for me?"

"I got you." I smiled.

"That's my girl." He lightly spanked me. "I'm taking this little terror as well." He lifted our son.

"Okay."

Sharing another kiss, being his father's child, our son began to fuss.

"Fine you can get one as well." I kissed our son.

Blushing, he laid his head on his father's shoulder.

"Just a damn shame. That's my girl." Aug shook his head.

Passing my grandmother as they left, she came into the kitchen dressed in her swimsuit.

"Well look at you." I laughed a little as she posed.

"I'm ready for this pool party." She made her way out to the back yard.

"Aye nanah." Nai and the girls hyped her.

Smiling as I looked out at them, seeing them happy was a blessing. While my grandma went into the pool they went back to speaking.

"Next time just tell us okay." I heard Evanna say.

"Yeah girl. We would have told you to ask one of our dads." Nai added.

"I know but I just felt so out of place to ask. Like they're y'all dads."

"And we get that but they're your uncles now and you know for yourself that everybody got everybody over here." Evanna spoke.

"I'm sorry."

"No need to be. We're just glad you had fun." Nai said.

"And you looked good." Eva complimented

"Girl. Y'all should have seen some of those girls. A mess!" They laughed.

Shaking my head, I went back to what I was doing. About to head out back, the door bell rang. Getting it, Brian stood there smiling.

"Hey B." We hugged. "I heard you had a great time at the dance last night." I smiled.

"I did." He smiled and nodded. "Aug and Kevin are lucky they get to enjoy that." We sat.

"Look at it this way, now you can. Dajah is going to have many more father daughter dances so in a way, you have a daughter now."

"You're right. I didn't think about that."

"Mhmm. Now to what do I owe this pleasure?"

"I need your help. This isn't a bad time right?"

"Nope, what's up?"

Sitting in the family room, I waited for him to continue.

"I want to plan something special for Sarah."

"Awe." I blushed. "What's the occasion?"

"No special occasion. It's a just because thing."

"Ouuu." I smirked making him blush.
