“Babe?”
“Mmm?”
“Are you sure, you're feeling okay for this?”
“Yes love.”
Sitting up, he pulled me onto his lap. For the past week Aug’s been sick and he was finally getting over it but I was still uncertain.
“Thank you fa taking care of me.”
“I would do it any time.” I laid my head on his shoulder.
“That’s why I love you.” He kissed my forehead.
It was officially the last day of summer vacation and today we were offering up our son for his long overdue blessings. We opted for a private thing this morning and then we were doing an end of summer party with Jay and her friends all beginning college this coming Monday.
“Did everyone confirm for today?” He asked with a slight cough.
“Yeah.”
Still sitting on his lap, I traced the tattoo on his chest as I listened to his breathing.
“I know you’re worried, but I'm fine sweetface.”
“I know.”
Closing my eyes tightly, I tried to not let my emotions get the best of me. When Aug got sick, it was like everything had shut down in me. I couldn't sleep at night because I was to scared and during the day, all I wanted to do was make sure he was okay.
“Don't cry love. I ain't leaving ya any time soon and I put that on my brother.”
Now straddling him, he gently rubbed my back before we shared a passionate kiss.
“I missed that.”
“Me too, and this.”
Flinching in surprise, I then blushed as he played with me.
