“Uncle Tory!”
Hearing Nai’s voice after the doorbell rang,I dried my hands and made my way to the front of the house.
“Ion know how you tell us apart ta this day.” He laughed. “How ma lah dancing baybeh?” They hugged.
“I'm good and well I must know who gives me the better gifts.”
“Naima.” I shook my head.
“What?” She looked back at me.
“G’on do something.” I pointed at her. “Wassup cous?” Me and Tory dapped.
“Man I'm straight.”
“So whea ma love at?” Cory came in.
Smiling, Nai hugged him before they came in.
“I hea a lah lady bout ta be a big sista’.”
“Yup.” She smiled. “And even though daddy insists on giving him his name, I'm gonna teach him everything.” She boasted.
“That’s right baybeh. Whea my cous in law at?”
“She sleeping. She got in this morning.”
Heading back into the kitchen, Nai was hot on our tail.
“Soooo? Anybody brought tha lah baybeh anything?” She smiled.
“Lah girl.”
Shaking my head, the twins laughed.
“As a matter of fact?” Tory spoke.
“We did.” Cory finished his sentence. “We did a joint gift though.”
“Its OK. I'm not fussy.” She smiled.
“And thas why you our favorite.” They handed her the gift.
Watching her smile, she stood right there and opened the box.
“A new charm for my bracelet.”
