Misty
"So what you think babe?"
"You really want to do this huh?"
"Yes." I smiled as I rubbed my belly.
"What's the matter?"
"Just some minor cramps, I'm fine." I smiled.
"Ya sure?"
"Yes puffin."
"But why hea though? Why not back home?"
"I don't know. I mean we could look at places back home too."
"Yeah because Ion want ya going back and forth."
"I figured."
Standing on the stage area of a hall, I had gotten an idea to possibly open a dance school.
"What time is your flight?"
"In the next two hours so I need to be heading to the airport."
"Ouuu." I breathed out. "Okay."
"Ya sure you're fine?"
"Yes. He just kicked me hard." I laughed.
As we stood there talking some more, the door opened and in walked my mother. Today my grandmother had what we hoped to be her last surgery dealing with her cancer and seeing my mother I knew it had to be over.
"Hi mommy. Is everything okay? Where's Nai?"
"Yes love, she's out and resting comfortably. The surgery was a success and Nai wanted to stay with her."
Hearing those words, I was elated and overjoyed and with that the emotions came.
"That's great." I smiled hugging her.
As we hugged it happened. Right at that moment, my water broke.
"Shit!" I heard Aug exclaimed.
"Babe?" I called trying not to panic.
Looking down at the puddle of fluid, there was also blood.
"Just stay calm sweet heart." My mother tried to calm me.
It was still early but at the same time I was around my due date.
"Why is there blood?" I tried not to cry.
"I'm sure its nothing ma." Aug tried to reassure me as we headed to the car.
Helping me in, my mother got into her rental as Aug got in next to me. Starting the car we left. With Nai being where my grandmother was, we made our way there.
"Just do the breathing we practiced babe." He held my hand.
Nodding, I did them. Though my cramps were minor, I did feel them.
"Yeah momma, that's whea we heading."
Hearing his voice I looked over to see him on the phone.
"Alright, just let me know if you get anything."
"Babe?" I called in between breaths.
"Yeah?"
"Call Nai. Tell her to get the doctor who dealt with my grandma."
"Right. That's a good idea. How you feeling?"
"Getting some cramps but it's bearable."
"Aight. Just breath like we practiced.
"Mhmm."
