"So who can give me the answer to this one?"

Sitting in my seat, I stared out the window lost in my thoughts while Ms. Jones thought Math.

"Anyone?" She asked.

You would think with this being our final year here, and it was basically revision for the SATs next month, people would know this shit by now but most of them were hopeless.

"For heavens sake, y'all are graduating in three months."

"All the more reasons why we shouldn't be doing shit."

"Get out my class Mr. Edwards."

"Man, why you gotta be like this." Jerome argued as he got his stuff.

Going back to the question, no one answered still so I raised my hand.

"Yes Ms. Chandler?"

"X equals twenty-five."

"Thank you."

As she continued, I just went back to being in my thoughts. Hearing final bell ring, I snapped out of my daze and packed up.

Leaving class, I heard Mrs. Jones called me back.

"Yes ma'am?"

"I wanted to give you this."

Taking the pamphlet, I looked at her.

"What is it?"

"Its a school here in Atlanta. What they do is, they provide college classes but with smaller classes."

"Oh ok. Thanks."

"I'm not giving it to you as any kind of insult or anything. I just want you to know that you have options. I was in your position too when I was your age."

"You lost your mother?"

"My dad. He was my only parent and then I got put into the system."

"Oh." I nodded.

"We all have our battles, its just how we deal with them."

"Well thank you so much Mrs. Jones. I really appreciate it."

"You're most welcome."

Leaving the classroom, I made my way to my locker to pack away some stuff.

As I approached it, I instantly began to smile.

"Hey you." I greeted Xander.

Me and him been talk for a minute now and he was actually a really down to earth person.

Closing my locker, we walked, heading for the student parking lot.
