Jayda

"Thanks again so much for coming Jay."

"Thanks for pressuring me to agree to come, I honestly can't remember the last time I've had this much fun." I smiled.

The weekend was finally here and I decided to take a break from everything and just have fun and clear my mind.

We were two weeks away from Christmas and I wanted to just have fun before dealing with the first Christmas without my mother.

"See I told you. You needed some fun time."

"Yea you were right."

Looking around at my peers, some I speak too, some I don't, it was cool seeing everyone out here and even though the place was a bit chilly, we were making the most of it.

"Girl excuse me for a minute." Monica walked off.

"HEY!!! HEY!!! THE HELL IS YOU PUTTING IN THERE?"

Laughing at her antics, I don't see why she was even trying to stop them. Where we were was secluded as is so there were guys with their weed, smoking and selling, alcohol, girls trying to hook up with guys and guys gambling. Typical for our age.

"Hey Jayda?"

Turning around, I smiled when I saw Xander approach me.

"Hey wassup." I nodded.

"I'm cool." He stood there opposite me. "So, um, you enjoying yourself, I've never really seen you at one of these before?"

"Oh, yea I am." I nodded. "I'm not much of a party person too, I just promised Monica I would come."

"Ok cool." He nodded.

I was beginning to get a nervous vibe off of him for some reason. Xander was the second top student in our year body, trailing behind me of course. Seeing him out like this was surprising.

"You enjoying it?"

"Oh yea, I am." He answered immediately.

"Well that's good." I smiled.

We stood there in an awkward silence, sipping from out red party cups.

"So." We both said together.

"You first." I told him.

"Nah, ladies first." He smiled.

"Ok well I was about to say I was going to get me a plate of whatever they got."

"Oh ok well I'll see you around then." He turned.

"No wait. I was going to ask if you wanted anything. I mean common courtesy." I smiled.

"Oh ok." He nodded. "Um yea. How about we walk over together."

"Sure. So what was you going I ask me?" I took a sip from my cup.
