Jayda
"Let's go y'all! I really don't want to be late."
Standing by the door waiting on my brother and sister so we can get going to church, I became irate.
They knew how much if an importance it was for us to be on time for church yet they would move extra slow.
"We're coming jeez." Dajah mouthed off as usual.
"Keep giving me lip, remember you got that class trip coming up." I grabbed my coat and keys.
"You wouldn't?"
"You know I would." I narrowed my eyes at her.
Jelani finally came down and we left. Within in the couple months of working at the center and money I had from working at the grocery, I was finally able to save up and get my first car.
"Jay can we listen to some music?" Jelani asked.
"Yea sure." I nodded and turned on the radio.
I wasn't into all that hype music so much but I listened to it. Since everything with my mom passing and what not, I made a full three sixty turn around with my life.
Not that I was a wild teen because I wasn't, but having to take on responsibilities plus school, it made me grow up mentally and emotionally.
To say that I feel like I'm missing out on anything, Nah. Everything was and is basically the same thing over and over so I was cool on all that.
"Dajah I know you ain't sleeping?" I nodged her.
"I was till you woke me." She huffed.
"What's gotten into you lately? You've been having an attitude aside from your usual attitude." I laughed lightly.
"I don't have and attitude." She rolled her eyes.
"See there you go right there. What's up?"
"Its nothing." She shook her head.
"That means its something. C'mon, I'm your big sister, you know I got you."
"I know but really its nothing."
"Fine" I sighed in defeat.
Pulling up in the church parking lot, I checked over myself before getting out.
Making our way to our usual seats, the church was relatively packed. We greeted the people who were there before us as we sat.
Looking around the church, I let out a sigh then sat back. I pulled out my phone checking the time seeing we had about five more minutes before service began.
"Don't worry Jay." Jelani rubbed over hand and smiled.
Nodding I just relaxed as service began.

"Now today I wanted us to talk about forgiveness."
Looking back at the doorway, I sighed before looking at my brother and sister next to me. Jelani sat up listening like he always did while Dajah kept nodding her head as she fell asleep.
"Dajah!" I whisper yelled causing her go jump.
"What?" She whined.
"Pay attention."
Huffing, she folded her arms and looked on.
"Forgiving someone can be difficult. Why do we need to forgive others? How can we forgive a person? The Bible can provide us with answers, inspiration and direction."
