“Momma!”

“Boy why are you yelling?” She asked as I entered the kitchen.

“Because I can. Morning?” I kissed her cheek.

“Morning son. Wheas my daughta’ in law?”

“Over at ha momma’s house. She ain't feeling too good.”

“Oh, morning sickness huh?”

“Yea and it's weird.”

“Why ya say that?”

“Since we been back home she's been sick. She had ta cancel on two appearances but when we was in France,she was normal.”

“It be like that sometimes son. Don’t worry, she’a be fine.” She patted my cheek.

Same time Nai came walking or should I say twirling in with ha headphones on.

“Morning maw.” She stopped and smiled.

“Morning sweet pea.”

Looking at her, she went straight into tha fridge.

“I knew it was yo loud mouth I heard.”

“Hey Mr. Rodney.” I laughed as we dapped.

“Wassup man. Sorry I ain't make it to ya launch.”

“Its cool. Momma told me ya had a big job and ya know I ain't bout ta stop ya hustle.”

Over tha years ma momma had gotten married and dude was cool.

“Naima Melody?”

“Pawpaw Rodney.” She beamed as she came out tha fridge.

Watching them interact, I couldn't help but smile.

“Aug?”

“Yo?”

“Mind if I take this lah lady out fa breakfast?”

“Nah man, Ion mind. Nai don't break ya grandpa’s pockets.”

“Yes daddy.” She laughed before kissing my cheek.

As they left, I put my attention on ma momma.

“He up to something.” I laughed.

“I know.” She shook her head. “Every year it's the same thing just a different surprise.” She laughed.
