"Chaylin, is this true?" Sheila asked.

"Here, Here!" Aug randomly blurted out.

Pinching my nose bridge, I sighed. This was not how I expected to bring in the new year.

"Ummm? Did we come at a bad time?" LJ asked.

"Honestly. Every time seems like a bad time when this family comes together." I shook my head.

"Momma where did you-"

"Hey, look who's here!" I shouted.

Trying to deflect the attention, I walked back out with Jayda and them.

"And its time for the count down." I smiled.

"Who is this cutie?" Sarah smiled as she approached me.

"After babe." I whispered. "Nai, you got it?"

"Yea momma." She nodded.

Setting up her iPad to downtown Atlanta, we all began to count down. Once we hit midnight, Nai pressed the control which turned on the New Years music.

While we hugged and greeted each other, fireworks went off throughout the neighborhood.

"Happy New Year sweet face."Aug and I shared a kiss.

"Happy New Year puffin."

Looking around at everyone as they tried to not make things seem weird, I noticed Chandra and Jamal were missing.

"Ya want ya new years D now or?" Aug smirked as he kissed on my neck.

"Babe stop. I'm holding Malik." I laughed.

"Fine." He stopped then took him from me.

"Yeen need this crazy ass family lah man. We save ya, trust me." He played with him.

Jayda and LJ came over to us while we played with Malik.

"He really love y'all." LJ smiled.

"He does. How you two been?" I asked.

"We're getting there. Thanks for hooking us up with the counselor" Jayda smiled.

"Its no problem." I smiled back. "We just want y'all to be in a better mind frame to take care of him. Like Aug told him, he don't need our crazy family." I laughed.

"Y'all not crazy. Y'all love each other and don't want to hurt anyone, so when y'all do meet, things like this happen." Jayda laughed.

"I guess."

"So Misty, you ready to answer my question?" Sarah came over to us.

"This is Malik." I tickled his chin.

"He's my son Mrs. Sarah." Jayda admitted.

"Your son?" Sarah said surprised.

"Yea and this is his dad."

"The carpark argument." Sarah nodded.

"Yea." LJ rubbed the back of his neck.

"Well, welcome. Sorry y'all had to witness that." She laughed.

"Its nothing compared to what I've witness and been through." Jayda laughed.

All while Sarah and them were having a conversation, I kept my attention on everyone around me.
