CHAPTER 05 (MEMORIES)

JENNIE'S POV

Thankfully, Kai called me, and I had an excuse to leave the bar. I really want to get out of there because I can't afford to see Lisa and her fiance, who are so sweet to each other. I never imagined Lisa would be accompanied by another person in the future.

That should be me! Only me! Is it that easy for her to forget what we've been through? We've been together for three years, and after two years, I'll find out she's getting married? What a joke!

I went straight to the Japanese restaurant where Kai was. When I got there, he ordered food and while waiting he spoke.

"How does it feel to see your ex again?" I was surprised by his question because I haven't told him the story yet.

"How did you know?" I furrowed.

He chuckle. "Jisoo texted me"

I let out a sigh. "Sorry if we bothered you, but thank you. I wish I had left there earlier"

"It's ok, I'm not that busy. Jen you can talk to me about it, I'll listen" He said and smiled.

Our order arrived quickly. While we were eating, he pulled out a black folder.

"The information came late but in case you want to know what happened to her after you broke up, just read this" He handed me the black folder.

"Maybe I don't need this anymore Kai, she's getting married" I tried to smile.

He just shrugged. "Okay, if that's what you want, but it's up to you; perhaps you'll change your mind and consider reading instead" I put the black folder into my bag and continued eating.

"Will you not even talk to her?" Kai asked.

"For what?"

"For Closure? You didn't truly end your relationship, did you? She just abruptly left and never showed up to you"

"Kai, it appears to be the same"

"Jen, but you deserve an explanation"

"I put down my chopstick. That's not necessary. I'm happy to see her happy"

"Jen" He grabbed my hand, but I quickly yanked it away. "I'm sorry" He said.

"I need to go" I stood up and walked out of the restaurant. I got inside the car and breath deeply before I start the engine.

I never left the apartment where Lisa and I lived, even though I felt like I was hurting myself every day because she had memories in every corner of it.

"I'm home!" When I went inside, I immediately smelled the aroma of what she was cooking.

"Love, I cooked dinner for us. Sit there first and this will be finish soon"

"Why did you come home early, love?" I get water in the refrigerator.

"The photoshoot ended quickly so I got home early and I also went to the grocery store" She replied.

"Did you go to the grocery store alone? You should have waited for me" I approached her in the kitchen. She smiled at me.

"Love, I know you're tired from work, I just want you to eat and rest when you come home"

She hugged me back and rested her chin on my shoulder after setting the meal on the table.

"I missed you" She kissed me on the cheek several times.

I smiled, she hadn't changed, she was still as sweet as ever.

"I've been missing you too, let's eat so you can rest as well, I know you're also tired"

"What movie would you like to watch?" We sat on the couch and ate pop corn as she asked me.

"Sweet and Sour" I answered.

Less than 30 minutes after we watched, I felt her head on my shoulder. She is the one who is asleep now.

I laid her neatly on the couch and turned off the television. I lay down next to her since we both fit on the couch and I stared at her. It will be obvious to her that she doesn't seem to be able to rest properly, but even so she still doesn't fail to take care of me. I'm probably the luckiest woman in the world because I have Lalisa Manoban.

I kissed her on the lips and hugged her. I love you Lili.

I sat on the bed after taking a bath and noticed the black folder that Kai had given me earlier. I took and opened it.

In Thailand, their company is named after her, she is also a well-known photographer. She's also had her own studio, and it has been said all over in Thailand that she's getting married.

"What else do you want to do besides operating the company?" As we laid in bed, I asked her.

"I want to marry you" She answered.

I laughed and slapped her on the arm. "Love, I'm serious"

She looked at me. "Why? What I stated was meant to be taken seriously"

"All right, but other than that, what else do you dream of?"

"I want to be a well-known photographer, I want to have my own studio, and as I said, I want to marry you" She replied while smiling.

"Do you want to be with me in the future?" I asked again.

She looked at me again. "Of course, there is no one else that I want to be with, but you. Why? Don't you want me to marry you?" She asked.

"Of course I want to, I'm the only one to whom you may be married" I locked my gaze on her.

"I love you, soon to be Jennie Ruby Jane Kim-Manoban" She said and kissed me passionately.

I didn't realize that my tears started to flow.

You have fulfilled your dreams love, it's just sad that I wasn't there to help you achieve your goals.

I read some of Lisa's interviews in Thailand. Before she had her own studio, she first worked as a Main photographer in a famous company in Thailand and this is what made her famous. It says that in 2017, Lisa was offered the position but she turned it down and chose to live in Seoul and work for a small company. She never said the reason why she refused it.

I remember year 2017 Lisa's family returned to Thailand. That means she should be in Thailand-...No, no, Maldo andwae!!!
