CHAPTER 20 (DEJA VU)

LISA'S POV

We arrived at the mansion and Mom immediately got out of the car, I followed her and when we entered she just spoke. I knew she had been holding back her anger earlier.

"Explain this to me Lalisa" She said while glaring at me.

"Mom, Suzy and I have already talked about this, we're not yet ready fo—"

"If Suzy's family believed in that reason, I wouldn't" She responded emphatically.

"Mom—.."

"It's because of Jennie, right?" She said in a sarcastic tone.

I did not answer.

She chuckled. "I knew it. From the very beginning I don't like the idea of you going back to Korea. What now, are you going back to her again? Will you leave everything you worked for here? What's with that woman and you always choose her?" She asked angrily.

I was a bit nervous because this was the first time Mom was mad at me like this.

"It's not like that Mom, I just thought I could give the relationship we had before a chance" I answered.

I already think about this before we came home here in Thailand.

"Chance? Are you insane? She cheated on you, Lalisa!" She shouted. I was surprised by what she said so I immediately looked at her.

"Are you surprised how I found out? You have nothing to hide from me, how long will you keep this to me? Do you think if your father was here he would be happy with your decisions?"

I lowered my head. "He will be happy when he sees me happy, that’s all I know, Mom"

"You still consider her as your happiness? Even if that happiness almost ruined your dreams?" She asked.

"Yes Mom" I answered confidently.

She didn't say anything further after that. She went upstairs and enter her room.

She used to like Jennie to the point where she forced me to return to Korea to mend our relationship, that's why I didn't tell them the truth since I didn't want her to be upset with Jennie. I adore her, and I promised myself that no matter what happens, I would defend her and her reputation. I don't blame Jennie for what she did because I thought maybe I was wrong too, if I had just given her everything, maybe she would not have cheated on me.

"Are you sure about this Lisa, I'll triple your salary, just don't resign" Mr. Park stated to me while reading my resignation letter.

I resigned as a main photographer at the company where I dreamed of working.

"I apologize, Mr. Park, but I've already thought about it" I answered her.

He forced a smile. "Well I can't seem to convince you" He signed my resignation letter. "I'm glad you've been a part of my company Lisa, if you change your mind and think about coming back, you're always welcome here"

"Thank you, Mr. Park, I'm grateful for the opportunity to work here as well" I replied with a smile. I bowed to him before leaving the office.

I went to my office first to get all my belongings.

"Ms. Manoban, welcome back" My secretary greeted me with a smile.

She noticed that I was arranging all my belongings so she spoke again.

"Are you leaving again?" She asked.

"I've resigned Tzu, you will have a new boss" I answer as I put my things in the box.

Her eyes widened. "Really? Why?"

"I'm going back to Korea" I answered shortly.

"Can I just come with you Ms. Manoban? I don't want a new boss" She said jokingly.

I chuckled. "I'm sure Mr. Park won't let you"

She walked closer to my table.

"I will miss you Ms. Manoban, I hope your next secretary knows the coffee blend you want"

I laughed at what she said but I didn't speak anymore and just continued to put my stuff in the box.

I said goodbye to all of them before leaving, Tzu try to stop me but he couldn't do anything because Mr. Park, already sign my resignation letter.

My next destination is Manoban Industry.

When I first walked into the workplace, the personnel greeted me with a smile, and I just smiled back before boarding the elevator.

"Wendy, how's business?" As I walked into Wendy's office, I inquired.

"Many businessmen, as is customary, wish to invest" She didn't even bother to look at me when she replied.

I sat in the chair across from her table, prepared to say something else when she spoke up.

"Manoban, I know what you're going to say" She close her laptop and turned to face me. "Are you sure about this?" She inquired of me.

"Yes, Wendy. I thought about this before we came back here" I answer her.

She slowly shook her head. "I have nothing else to say, just come back here when she cheats on you again" She said jokingly.

I played the ballpen I saw on top of Wendy’s table.

"Do you think I'm doing the right thing?" I asked her seriously.

She did not answer me but asked me question as well. "Do you like what you're doing?"

I nodded slowly.

"I honestly don’t agree with your decisions, you left the studio with Taehyung, resigned from your job and left this company just to go back to Korea" She leaned back in her swivel chair. "You do everything for her again, what if she cheats on you again?"

"What if not?" I asked.

"She has done it before, and she'll be able to do it again now" She replied. "But who am I to stop you if you're happy with her, just don't trust her right away and let her prove to you that she deserves the second chance you gave.

If there's a one person who knows everything that happened to Jennie and me, it's Wendy, but I told her not to tell anyone because I don't want them to know about it.

"Didn’t you even once talk to Jennie about what she did?" She asked and I shook.

After Mr. Kim talked to me, I left our apartment.

"Anyway, If I were in your position, I would do the same. You would be a fool if you accepted his offer to you before" She stood up and walked towards the glass wall. "Just don't let her break you again, Manoban"

I just stared her back and didn't speak.

Many people were disappointed by my decision. I just hope I'm doing the right thing.

- The past will repeat, but not the pain.
