CHAPTER 35 (DANGER)

CHAEYOUNG'S POV

Lisa contacted Jisoo while we were dining, and it appeared that something horrible had occurred once more. As she spoke with Lisa, I observed Jisoo's frown and wrath in her eyes, she has been so busy with work the past few days that she scarcely has time to rest. We barely see each other at home because she is so busy. Jisoo walked into the room as soon as their chat ended, when she came out she was holding the car key and wearing a jacket.

"Where are you going, babe? We're still not done eating" I enquired.

"Jennie and Lisa were waiting for me at the mansion" She response.

"Why, did something happen again? Can't you just go tomorrow?" I approached her and held her hand. "Babe, you need to rest you look tired" I noticed her sluggish eyes.

"I'm okay, I have to go to my sister because I'm worried about her" She answered me. I did not speak because I knew I could not stop her. "I'm leaving, don't forget to lock the door when I leave" She said and kissed me on the forehead before exiting.

I looked at the food on the table and decided to put it away and put it in the refrigerator because I had lost my appetite. I sat on the bed in the bedroom and noticed the key on the side table. I was looking for this key the other day. I took it and opened the bottom drawer in search of my necklace, which I thought I had placed here.

I came across three small envelopes while rummaging through the contents of the drawer and decided to open them because I was curious about their contents.

Was my surprise to your sister well received?

I'm delighted you're afraid.

You're next.

My hands trembled as I read the contents of the envelope. I don’t understand what they are but I’m sure it’s connected to what’s happening right now.

Why Jisoo didn't even tell me that she receives such things?

I immediately picked up my phone and dialed her number but she didn't answer. I called Lisa and in less than a minute she answered it.

"Why did you call, Chaeng?"

"Is Jisoo already there?" I inquired her

"Huh? She didn't specify if she was coming or not" Lisa responded.

"Are you still in the mansion?" I inquired once more.

"We had been there before, but we had left since Jisoo unnie had not stated that she was going" I was even more worried now, where would she go?

"Listen to me, Lisa. I think Jisoo is in danger"

"What are you talking about?! How do you know?" Lisa's voice rose a little louder.

"I-I don't know Lis, but I've seen letters at home that I believe are related to the situation" My lips were trembling as well, and I couldn't stop crying. When something bad happens to Jisoo, I can't stand it.

"Don't cry, Chaeng. Try to call her, and I'll ask Seul whether they're together, okay? Please, don't cry" She said. I dropped the call and tried to dial Jisoo's number again.

"Where have you gone, babe? Lisa stated that they had left the mansion" I asked her as she answered the phone.

"Are you Attorney Kim's wife, Ma'am?" When others on the other line responded, I was taken aback.

Y-Yes, I am, who are you, and why is my wife's phone is in yours? I stuttered as I questioned him.

"This is Police officer Minho, I am with Atty. Kim and we are currently heading to the Hospital" I no longer understood what he said next, I let go of the phone I was holding and my knees softened. My tears kept flowing and I didn’t know what to do, I couldn’t move or stand up to go to her. I swear to God, I can't bear the thought of losing her.

LISA'S POV

We found Chaeyoung sitting in a chair inside the hospital with their three body guards. She just bowed her head while crying so I approached her.

"Chaeng" When she saw me she immediately stood up and hugged me.

"Lisa, I can't. I can't handle if she'll leave me" She was trembling as she sobbed.

I stroked her hair. "She will be fine, Chaeng. Jisoo unnie is strong and I'm sure she will fight" I told her and made her sit down again.

I was with Jennie and Mr. Kim, they are now talking to the police to find out what happened. Their bodyguard called us because the police could not talk to Chaeng because she had been crying a lot before.

"Riding in tandem shot down her car, do you have any idea who could do that?" I heard the police question. Jennie and Mr. Kim looked at each other then shook their heads at the same time. "Ms. Kim is a great Attorney, it may have something to do with the cases she handled before" The police added.

I remember the letters that Chaeyoung mentioned to me earlier but I couldn't tell them because I didn't know what was written there, and I also couldn't ask Chaeyoung in this situation.

Soon after, the Doctor came out of the emergency room so Chaeyoung immediately stood up and approached the Doctor.

"Doc, how's my wife?" She asked.

"She's stable now, we've removed the bullet from her arm but she needs blood since she lost a lot of it" I felt a little relieved to hear that she was okay.

"She's my sister Doc, I can give my blood" I looked at Jennie as she spoke.

"We will check first if you have the same blood type, and if you are the same, we'll do the procedure as soon as possible" The doctor answered before he finally left.

Jisoo unnie has been given her own room. Mr. Kim has left for the time being because he needs to take care of things, but Jennie, Chaeyoung, and I are here inside. Chaeyoung sat next to Jisoo unnie, her eyes sorrowful and fatigued despite the fact that she was no longer crying.

"You should take a break, Chaeng. Unnie will be taken care of by us" She was informed by Jennie.

With a shake of her head, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the situation. "Jen, I'm okay, she needs my presence next to her" Chaeyoung responded.

Jennie walked over to her and gently stroked her back. "If Jisoo unnie sees you like that, she will be furious"

I look at the clock, it’s 6:00 in the morning. "I'll take you to your house, Chaeng so you can rest and get clothes for Jisoo unnie Seulgi and Irene will arrive later" I said and sat down on the couch and leaned my head against the wall.

I know how Chaeng feels, if I was in her situation now I might not be able to rest either.

I felt Jennie approach me. "Are you sure you can drive later? You haven't slept yet, we can just send Chaeng to the body guards" She asked me.

"I'm fine, Love. We can't just leave Chaeng in the hands of the bodyguards" I respond to her.

Later on, Seulgi and Irene arrived to replace us in watching over Jisoo unnie. Jennie also didn't want to go home so I let her sleep there.

While we were on our way home, Chaeng did not speak.

Chaeng, can you close the window? I told her because I noticed the window was open.

When she was about to close the window she suddenly scream. "Ouch! Lis, my eyes" She rubbed her eyes.

"Don't rubbed it, Chaeng" I temporarily parked the car. "Let me see" I approached her and blew her eye. "Is it okay now?" She nodded and closed the window. "Thank you"

When we arrived at their house I got out of the car first, I was going to open the door for her but she didn't wait for me and she got out but she didn't notice the rock and she tripped over it. Fortunately, I caught her right away.

"Be careful Chaeng, Jisoo unnie might kill me when something bad happens to you" I told her jokingly, she just smiled a little and then went inside.

- This is the beginning of never ending chaos.
