CHAPTER 19 (FAMILY DINNER)

LISA'S POV

We arrived at the airport and our driver picked us up, I took Suzy to their house first. Tonight we will have a family dinner where we will talk about the wedding. When I arrived at the mansion I was greeted by the guards and maid. I found Mom in the garden watering her plants. I approached her and gave her a kiss on the cheek.

"Welcome back, darling, where's my daughter in law?" She greeted me warmly.

"I first took her to their place so she could rest"

"Why didn't she just come right here?" She asked again.

"I'm sure she misses her family as well, Mom" I replied and entered the mansion, going straight to my room, taking off my shoes and lying down. I'll go to sleep first because I have to get to the studio before meeting Suzy's family.

I woke up at 2:00 pm and took a long shower. It was about four o'clock when I left home, I don't like my situation here in Thailand, my mom is too strict when it comes to body guards I can't drive my own car because I need body guards with me when I leave so I have no choice but to accept her orders.

When I arrived at the studio I found Taehyung sitting in his swivel chair while looking at some pictures he was holding. He looked surprised when he saw me.

"Lisa, why didn't you say you were coming?" He asked me and laid the pictures on the table.

I took the pictures he had held earlier and looked at them one by one. "It's nice, who took it, you?"

"Yes, just now" He replied then I nodded. "You haven't answered my question yet, why didn't you say you were coming?"

"It's a surprised" I answered.

"Do you have your fiance with you? Where is she?" He looked around to check whether Suzy was there.

I did not answer him and sat in the chair across from his table. Taehyung has been working here for a long time and I can say he is one of the great photographer. We're almost brothers and sisters, and I know I can trust him. "I'd like to ask you a favor, V" I informed him.

He fixed his gaze on me. "Lisa, if you borrow money, I don't have one" He replied jokingly.

I smacked his head. "Idiot, I'm serious"

He laughed and rubbed his head. "What's that?"

I want you to manage this studio while I'm away. I answered seriously.

His eyes widened. "Are you kidding me, Lisa?"

I slowly shook my head. "I can't entrust this studio to anyone else, V, and you're the only one I see that can help me when it comes to this. You look like a brother to me so I trust you"

He still can't believe what I'm saying. "Where are you going? Does your fiance don't want you to work anymore?"

"I'm going back to Korea and intend to open a new studio there" I answered.

"What are you talking about?! Are you going to abandon me here? Please don't do that to me, Lisa" What he said made me laugh.

"I will visit you often"

"Will you and Suzy live in Korea after you get married?" He asked.

I shook once more. "The wedding has been cancelled"

"Lisa, I'm sorry, but I don't have time to joke with you. I still have a lot of things to accomplish" He said and opened his laptop. I didn't speak and just looked at him, later on he looked at me as well.

"Are you serious?" He frowned when he asked.

"Do I look like I'm kidding?" I pointed to myself.

"Why all of a sudden? Are there so many beautiful women in Korea that you suddenly change your mind to marry Suzy?" He said jokingly.

"It's not like that, we both decided about it" I answered him.

"Maybe because of your ex, what's her name again?" He asked.

"Jennie"

"Ahh yeah, Jennie. Did you met in Korea? Do you still love her?" He asked again but I did not answer. "You know, I'm really curious what's with your ex and why you love her so much. Perhaps I should get to know her better in order to understand you" He seems to have noticed that I don't want to talk about it. I heard him sigh. "Okay, I'll grant your request and no matter what your decision, I am always here" He tap my shoulder.

I smiled because of what he said. "Thank you so much V. I promise, I will visit you often, and please take care of this studio, you know how important it is to me" I hugged him for a moment.

"Yeah, I promise to take care of it, it's like my second home" He replied while smiling.

I even stayed a few hours in the studio and watched the photoshoot. I will miss everyone here. I'm confident that I didn't make the mistake of entrusting it to Taehyung.

I just called Mom to our driver and told them to go straight to the restaurant where we would have dinner. I left the studio at 7:00pm and went to the restaurant, when I got there Suzy and her family were already there as well as my Mom.

"Good evening Mr. and Mrs. Bae" I politely greet them.

They greeted me as well, and I took a seat next to Suzy.

As we ate Suzy's mother spoke.

"Are we going to talk about the marriage?" Mrs. Bae asked while smiling.

I was about to answer but Suzy spoke first.

"Mom, Dad, Mommy, we've come to inform you that we will not continue our marriage" Suzy replied that they were surprised.

"Why, what happened? Do you have a problem, is there something wrong with my daughter? You can tell me so I can talk to her" My mother asked confusedly.

"Baby, what happened?" Mrs. Bae asked her daughter.

Suzy looked at me.

"We realized that we were not ready for this, so we wanted to give ourselves time first" She replied.

I looked at her because of what she said.

What are you saying?

I was about to tell them the truth but Suzy held my hand to say "Let me handle this".

"Lisa, don't you have anything to say?" Mr. Bae asked me.

"I'm sorry to disappoint you, Mr. and Mrs. Bae but we have already decided about it"

I noticed Mr. Bae, sigh. "Then there's nothing we can do. That news made me sad, but if it's what my daughter wants, we'll just accept it" He looked at his wife and forced a smile.

"Thank you for your understanding, and again I'm so sorry" I told them.

"We'll talk about this Lalisa" Mom got up and didn't finish her meal. Before following my Mom, I apologized to Suzy and her family once more.

She's furious now since she addressed me by my full name. Suzy's earlier words had failed to persuade her, and it appeared that I would have to explain everything to her.
