LISA'S POV
He was looking out the window while holding a glass of wine; a few years had passed, but the elegance of his figure had not changed, as if he was not getting older, and the aura that everyone feared remained. I don't know where I found the strength to say what I said before, even though I was terrified every time I spoke to him previously.
"It's great that you could come to me and tell me about it. What do you think will be my response?" He didn't even bother to glance at me when he asked.
"Mr. Kim, I'm not sure, but whatever you say, I'll respect it" I replied courteously.
"I waited a long time for this day Lisa, before Jennie told me about the relationship that you two had, I already knew about it" I was surprised by what he said and I heard him laugh softly. "Please bear with me if I messed up your relationship before, I just love my daughter so much that I want to make sure she is in the right person. But you disappoint me, Lisa, I'm expecting you to fight for Jennie because that's what she deserves but what did you do? You left my daughter alone, you fixed yourself in Thailand while she's waiting for you to come back here" I could feel his seriousness in every word he uttered.
"Do you know how painful it is for a father to see his daughter hurt? What can I do if the person she loves can't fight for her?" He turned around and looked straight at me. "I have no plans to continue her marriage with Kai, I'm not such a bad father to decide who she should love but when I saw how Kai loves her I'm hoping she just forget that she loves you" The earlier serious voice was replaced by gentle speech, now I only saw this soft side of him. "It's just that it didn't happen like that, even after a few years had passed you are still the one that she wants and I as a father want to do everything to make Jennie happy. So when I found out that you were getting married, I personally talked to Mr. Park to let you work here in my company. For the second time I apologize for ruining the relationship you had" He put the glass of wine on the table.
"You don't have to apologize Mr. Kim, because if you didn't do that I wouldn't be this happy today" I answer him. I know I hurt the person who loves me so much, I hurt Suzy, I have no choice but to apologize to her for what I did, but I will not deny that I am happy here.
"Take care of my daughter, Lisa, don't hurt her and don't let others hurt her. If the day comes when you can no longer live with her, give her back to me" He said and I stood up to approached him.
"I promise Mr. Kim, I will never hurt Jennie and I will never leave her again" He smiled and hugged me.
"Just call me Dad" I smiled at what he said and felt tears stream down my cheeks. Because of his hug I missed my dad, I have long missed the hug of a father.
We let go of the hug and I wiped away my tears. "Jennie and I will visit here as well as Jisoo and her wife"
"That's great, I will prepare a little party for us" He said while smiling and patted my shoulder.
"Thank you very much Mr —... D-Dad, I need to leave, Jennie is definitely waiting for me" I bowed and said goodbye to him, he nodded and accompanied me up to the door of his mansion.
"Be careful Lisa" He said before I got in my car.
***
"What did I find out that Jennie and Lisa are back together?!" The woman asked angrily to her interlocutor on the phone.
"I don’t know Krystal, I also don’t expect Lisa to forgive Jennie so quickly" Her friend answered.
"Do something! They can't be happy!"
"Why don't you just talk to your ex to help you?" The person from the other line asked annoyingly.
"He wouldn't do that, he loved Jennie so much and he didn't want to see that woman hurt!" She heard her friend laughing. "What are you laughing at?! Is there anything funny in today’s situation?"
"Just go back to Seoul and make your own way. Your puppy looks useless inside the company" The woman laughed as she replied.
"I'm not able to go back to Seoul!" Krystal said angrily.
"You have two options, you go back to Seoul or you just let them have fun. You're too slow Krystal when Lisa marries Jennie it will be even more difficult to ruin them" She became even more enraged as a result of what she had heard.
"That is not going to happen! I will ruin them before they can be happy forever!" She screamed and hung up the phone. Krystal smashed her phone against the wall and dumped all of her stuff in front of her, including the only photo of her baby.
She stared at the photo of Jennie glued to the wall and stabbed it with a knife. "What do you have and why do they all love you so much?" She was talking to the photo. "All right, just be happy with what's happening now because soon I'll take everything you have, my son, Kai, and especially Lisa. Let's see if you don't go crazy when they're all gone from you. I'm going to show you everything I've been through for almost two years Jennie, wait for us to meet and I'll make your life and Jisoo's miserable, but for now I'll let you be happy together with your worthless father!"
