"Stop." The word and the pain hidden behind it.
No, Jungkook shook his head, it wasn't just any pain.
His voice held the pain of nightmares and grieving for too long. It was as if the pain was old, centuries old and at the same time new and bleeding. Hearing that guy whisper that one word had caused Jungkook's heart to drown in despair.
How could he have possibly caused the man such sadness or pain?
One part of him knew he wasn't the cause of it, not exactly. Jungkook hadn't hurt him, not physically nor mentally. The pain in that word had been directed at someone else.
But the illogical part of him said he was the cause.
"Jungkook?" Jimin's voice pulled him out of his thoughts. He looked up to see his idol friend making his way to him.
"What happened? And where is he?" He asked.
Jungkook sighed and met Jimin halfway, in the middle of the now deserted hallway. "He ran away."
"What? But why? I-I thought he would come back to apologize." Jimin said the last part more to himself then Jungkook.
The other frowned, and stared at Jimin. "What do you mean, apologize?"
"I just thought-" Jimin shrugged and avoided Jungkook's eyes. "I thought it was rude of him to yell at you like that. His reaction to your touch was-"
"Abnormal?" Jungkook guessed.
"No." Jimin shook his head. "Ever since our paths crossed, I feel like he knows us. He knows who we are, but we don't know anything. I didn't even catch his name the first time. I only read his name off the license in his wallet before returning it to him."
"Oh-" Jungkook had heard some of the words the mysterious guy had uttered but he too had forgotten to ask his name.
"Yes. Kim Taehyung, that's his name."
"Does it ring a bell?" Jungkook asked. They did work with a lot of Kims, and some of the staff also shared the same name. But Jimin shook his head.
"No. I have never come across anyone with that name."
"So, we don't have anything on this guy." Jungkook chewed at his lower lip, trying to think of a way to track this Kim Taehyung.
The way he had escaped, as if he wanted to stay away from Jungkook, raised his suspicion to a new level. That guy was definitely hiding something.
Something big...
And Jungkook had an inkling, that maybe this big secret was related to him, or maybe related to both him and Jimin.
"I'm going to follow him." Jungkook said out loud and turned to leave.
"What?" Jimin let out a groan. "Are you out of your mind? You don't even know who he is? Why bother following him? Can't we just forget this and leave for Seoul?"
Jungkook took a closer look at Jimin's face and his slightly wide eyes. "What did you see?" He asks after a pause. "W-Why do you seem scared of this guy?"
Jimin dragged a hand through his hair, and turned away, not meeting Jungkook's eyes. "You don't believe even when I tell you that he's dangerous."
"But he hasn't harmed you in anyway." Jungkook pointed out.
"Yes, I know but -" Jimin stopped mid-sentence.
"But what?" Jungkook coaxed him. The suspense was killing him.
