"Let's go." Taehyung said and was out of the car and moving towards his apartment building before Jungkook even released the seat-belt.
"Hey! Wait up! What's with the rush?!" Jungkook called after him, but Taehyung quickened his pace.
He still didn't believe that Taehyung was sick.
It was too random a confession, and Jungkook knew he had been fine moments before reaching the car. What had changed? And what was this...sickness of his essence? It was the first time Jungkook hear of it. But then again, Taehyung wasn't a human and this seemed like a non-human disease that somehow Taehyung had contracted.
Was it the exhibition? Is that were it had started? Jungkook couldn't be sure. There was no way of finding out, and Jungkook had a feeling that Taehyung wouldn't be honest with him, if Jungkook questioned him about it.
He stopped himself from sighing and followed Taehyung to the apartment building.
Watching Taehyung stumble over the first three steps to the entrance, and then breeze past his receptionist as if she didn't exist, further worried Jungkook. What had gotten into him? Was this really the works of some extra-terrestrial disease...or something else?
They reached Taehyung's apartment, and the elder all but flung the door open, almost ripping it off the hinges, and stomping on his way in.
"Taehyung? What is wrong with you?" Jungkook shouted at his retreating back, but of course, he got ignored.
When Jungkook reached the door and peaked inside, he saw Taehyung working to move the closet that hid the secret room with paintings.
"Woah! Wait! Tae! Why are you going there?" Jungkook quickened his pace, wanting to follow Taehyung into the room.
Didn't he say he was sick? How was it possible to move the furniture in his state? Again, Jungkook's mind came up with the same reasoning. Tae is not human. Maybe the disease didn't affect him physically, and only just in essence. What did he know?
"Wait!" Jungkook said when he was a feet away from Taehyung's disappearing frame.
But before he could get hold of Taehyung, the other flicked his wrist at Jungkook, and Jungkook's body froze mid-air.
"Wha-"
"I stopped your time." Taehyung said, without turning to face him.
"But-"
"Don't even think about following me inside." Taehyung's voice took on a sinister note, and if Jungkook hadn't been so shocked, he would have asked if Tae was threatening him. But he couldn't and so he settled for a scoff.
"You think it's funny? Huh?" This time Taehyung turned, and the person Jungkook had become familiar with, the Taehyung he had hangout with, was gone – in his place was a mask, devoid of any emotion, and steely eyes that punched holes into his soul.
It was as if a switch had gone off and Taehyung's real self was peeking through...or was this another act he was pulling in front of Jungkook?
No one could tell, and Jungkook, no matter how much he struggled, couldn't unfreeze himself.
With a tiny smirk playing on his face, Taehyung stepped into the hidden room and gave him a tiny wave.
What? Was Tae going to leave him like this? Jungkook's eyes widened at the thought.
"Stay." Taehyung whispered and lifted his index finger.
A second later, Jungkook dropped to the ground with a loud grunt.
"What the hell Taehyung? Why did you do that?" Jungkook shouted as soon as he found his voice.
There was no response from the other.
Jungkook frowned and looked up at where Taehyung had stood seconds ago.
There was nobody.
The room on the other side was in shadows, with no light to give Jungkook a clear view of its inside. Where was Taehyung?
Jungkook took a step closer to the doorway, and then another, until he stood in front of it.
Taehyung had warned him not to follow inside, but a part of Jungkook wanted to defy it. He knew he was playing with fire here, wanting to step into the unknown. But a part of him was also worried that Taehyung was in actuality sick, and might need help. He wasn't sure how he could be of help to the magician, but an extra pair of hands was always a good idea or so Jungkook thought.
Also, the curiosity to discover more, to see for himself what secrets the room held, made Jungkook determined to follow Taehyung.
Just as he was about to step into the room, his body slammed into an invisible wall and Jungkook was thrown onto his back, the air knocked from his lungs and his muscles groaning in pain.
"What the hell? Tae-"
"Didn't I tell you, not to follow me?" Taehyung's voice interrupted Jungkook.
He stop inside the door frame, out of Jungkook's reach and he had -
"What is that?" Jungkook didn't know if there was a name for the attire Taehyung was wearing.
It was a translucent white body suit from waist up, and fit snuggly on his upper body and arms, and the pants...if they could be called as such, were wide, flowy and made of silk-like cloth, hiding his thighs from view.
Jungkook was having a hard time concentrating on Taehyung's face, when his chest was on full display.
He knew the elder had a well-built body, but this...this was a sculptured master piece! Jungkook had worked out enough to know, he hadn't reached that level yet. And he somewhat felt jealous of Taehyung having this kind of body. The guy didn't even hit the gym, like Jungkook.
He knew it, because the many times Jungkook had seen Taehyung, it was always in his apartment or outside taking a stroll. There wasn't a hint of gym wear or equipment in the room, nor the usual smelly socks thrown near the shoe rack or even a towel that held a certain stink to it, which didn't go away no matter how much one washes it.
Jungkook's pokemon towel was beyond saving because of this specific reason.
There was nothing that pointed to a gym freak Taehyung. So, Jungkook had taken a wild guess, and was hoping he was right.
But it didn't make the situation easier, especially with Taehyung look like that. The cloth left little to imagination.
"Jungkook?"
"Huh?"
"Did you understand what I said?"
"What?"
"Dammit! Jungkook! I don't have time for this!" Taehyung said. His face which had become a mask, twisted into a frustrated glare. "Just...stay where you are."
"Do. Not. Come. Inside."
With that, Taehyung walked away, leaving behind a slightly breathless Jungkook.
