Bright light – that was all Jimin remembered from the time he was almost mugged.

It had been a memory that had to a degree scarred him, reduced his confidence and made him stick to Jungkook more. The younger guy hadn't questioned it much, though Jungkook had teased Jimin about it from time to time.

After that episode Jimin had made it a point to avoid the dark, lonely alleys, and stay away from people who were deemed sketchy in the eyes of his bodyguard. He only trusted some of the staff members and his manager to go out with him, if he felt like leaving the bodyguard behind.

"Jimin-shi! You worry too much!" Jungkook had said once, his voice filled with mirth as always. "I'll protect you from the big bad guys!" He had then flexed his muscles and Jimin had laughed at his face.

Jungkook always loved working out and building his abs, and never backed out from showing them off.

Though he was part of the sister agency that worked under Jimin's management company, most times, Jungkook could be found stuck to Jimin's side.

After the first few tries, Jungkook's manager had given up trying to get him to work in places that didn't have Jimin in it.

"If I didn't know any better, I would have said he was in love with you." Adora had joked, and Jungkook had huffed in annoyance.

"Of course! I love him! He's my Jimin-shi! The only one I can play with!" Jungkook had said and walked off.

Jimin and Adora had shared a laugh at his retreating back, and in his heart Jimin had thanked his stars for giving him such a lovely friend.

But, sometimes, one did need to hide things, even from friends like Jungkook.

Jimin had no doubt that Jungkook would go hunting for the man who had attacked him. Late or not, he would make it a point to keep digging until the truth was uncovered.

"I'm sorry." Jimin sighed and sat down on the bed. "I can't tell you about this either."

It was the right decision, Jimin thought.

Even if Taehyung was the guy who had saved him by using his unusual light and magical powers, Jimin didn't want Jungkook adding questions to the pile. He was already tracking him down, do discover Kim Taehyung's secret. If it came into picture that Taehyung might have stalked Jimin for more than a year, it would worsen the situation. Whether Taehyung saved Jimin or not wouldn't matter then, and Jungkook would drill the answers out of him, and not sit quiet until he had them.

He was a maniac in that sense.

His sense of protectiveness over Jimin had frightened even his bodyguard, who was a good six foot two giant. But Jungkook... angry Jungkook, was the nightmare that you run away from, and they all knew it.

His phone let out a chime, and Jimin reached for it, opening the message.

It was from Adora, it had a smiley and 'Found it' text written on screen. Jimin bit his lower lip, his thumb hovering over the attached file in the message.

Sure, he was dying to fight out who the mysterious savior was, but a part of him also wanted to give up the search and go back to living an oblivious life.

But, like they say, curiosity killed the cat, and Jimin hit the attachment icon.

It took a second of buffering and the image came into view. "What?" Jimin frowned.

There was no change in the image. It was still blurry as before. He was about to call Adora, when another message popped in his notifications.

He clicked on it and read Adora's message. "Sorry, I sent you the old image lol. This is the right one. I was able to get a slightly better version of the image, after pulling some strings. You owe me that dinner. We're going out once you come back to Seoul."

"Of course! And thanks for this, Adora! Thanks a lot!" Jimin replied back to the message and a smile played on his lips.

"You're welcome Jiminie!" The reply came back, swift and with more smiley.

Jimin shook his head and then click on the previous message, once again his finger hovering over the attachment. But this time the delay was less, and he clicked on the image.

Seconds later, he was staring at a somewhat familiar face. It wasn't a clear snapshot, but Jimin had seen Taehyung, watched him at a close angle and his sideview almost matched the face staring back at him from the picture. There was a chance that this person was Taehyung, but there was also a chance that he wasn't.

Jimin let out the breath he didn't know he was holding.

He had wanted something more to go on, but this was enough...for now.

He could work with this picture. Now all he needed to do was trick Taehyung into confirming his suspicion.

But...he's not a normal person. Jimin's mind whispered. He has magic on his side.

"And I have Jungkook." Jimin muttered and stopped, his breath caught in his throat.

Jungkook – he had gone after Taehyung. What if he gets into trouble or worse...Taehyung discovers him? Jimin's heart knew Taehyung wouldn't harm him, but he had to follow his mind in this one. Jimin couldn't take a risk and leave Jungkook out in the open.

Even with the bodyguard by his side, Jimin knew the younger guy wouldn't be safe. If Taehyung used his time on Jungkook, the bodyguard was a frozen sculpture next to Jungkook, and of no use whatsoever.

He needed to be there, Jimin decided.

Yes, he would follow Taehyung, while staying by Jungkook's side. It was better facing the mysterious Kim Taehyung when it was two of them, rather than just one petty human.

Jimin didn't think he could pick out the signs of when Taehyung would use his powers, but he knew he could yell at Jungkook to run as soon as he saw that otherworldly light.

Nodding to himself, Jimin grabbed a black leather jacket from the chair where he had abandoned it earlier, and stepped out, swiping his contacts as he walked to the elevator.

First, he tried Jungkook's number. It went to voicemail, as was expected, and Jimin shook his head. He really had gone full sleath mode, that Jungkook idiot, trying to stalk a magical being.

The thought sounded funny in his mind, but there was no laugh on his face, because Jimin knew it was all true.

Next he dialed their bodyguard's number. Thankfully he picked after three rings.

"Where are you?" He asked and the bodyguard replied with the address.

The elevator dinged and the doors opened. Jimin stepped inside and sent out a quick prayer to whoever listened.

"Just wait for me Jungkookie. Be safe." He whispered.
