"Did you like it?"
It was the first question Jungkook asked Taehyung, as soon as they stepped out of the theater.
"Yeah." Taehyung nodded. "How about you?"
"It was everything that I had imagined and more! Wow! I'm so in love with the main leads performance and the suspense, the thrill of it all...wow."
"You were so excited to see the movie, it's good thing it lived up to your expectations." Taehyung chuckled. "Or else you had be sulking out here now."
"What?" Jungkook stared at him. It was the first time Taehyung had teased him like that, with such ease, as if they were close friends. And he loved it.
Taehyung seemed to notice his slip up, and became quiet. "Nothing."
However, Jungkook wasn't going to let it go.
He wanted to see more of Taehyung's expressions, more of his brilliant smiles and the laughing eyes that shone with mirth at jokes. He hadn't known Taehyung was so expressive. Before, during their brief meetings he only ever had that one monotonous expression on his face - one that didn't give away anything and yet there was the grief he couldn't cut out from his gaze or the cloud of sadness that was a permanent resident over Taehyung's head.
He doubted even Taehyung himself knew how many times he had let slip his real feelings during the movie. He might not have been as enthusiastic as Jungkook was, but the varying looks on his face made him seem human...so human that Jungkook for a second wanted to believe the truth existing between them had disappeared, and that Taehyung wasn't an inhuman or that he wasn't one that wielded the power to manipulate time.
But the lights had come on, the movie coming to an end, and Taehyung had once again pulled on his familiar mask. He was back to being the creature that was unlike anybody had ever seen.
The first time Jimin had told him about Taehyung, there had also been a bit of fear in his heart, along with disbelief. He refused to go along with Jimin's words and label Taehyung as an extra-terrestrial something.
But in his heart, he had also wondered, what if it was true? What if he meant harm to them both?
But overtime, he had come to know Taehyung as a person with many layers. Each layer that was peeled away, Jungkook stumbled on another one, and another. He still didn't know who the real Taehyung was, but somehow, he had a feeling, he would be discovering the true face of this person soon.
He will be witnessing Taehyung in his true form soon enough.
"I don't think you liked 'Parasite' that much." Jungkook said, crossing his arms over his chest. He kept an eye on Taehyung, watching for his reaction.
Taehyung's eyes widened slightly. "That's not true! I did like the movie."
Jungkook huffed and rolled his eyes. "I was the only one cheering in the theater, beside you. It was so awkward, but I let it go because I wanted to thoroughly enjoy the movie, and you can't do that unless you're knee-deep into the plot and experience the play of emotions."
Before Taehyung could reply back, Jungkook cuts him off. "But I forgive you."
"Huh?"
"Maybe, watching movies isn't really your thing." Jungkook said, a sly smile on his lips.
He saw the blush creep up Taehyung's neck and how he bit his lower lip. He was trying hard not to get affected by Jungkook's jab and it amused the younger. Taehyung could have told him to plan something else, or they could have just hung out at SKYLARK. Why bother to accompany Jungkook to see the movie, if he himself wasn't interested in it?
This was going to be fun, Jungkook thought.
"If you didn't want to watch the movie, we could have gone somewhere else." Jungkook said, making a hurt face, and Taehyung bowed his head not meeting his eyes. "I did ask you remember? I asked you if you had a place in mind?"
"Then why-"
"Didn't you want to go? Didn't you want to watch the movie?" Taehyung muttered, still not meeting his eyes.
"Yes, I did but-"
"Then that's settled. I just accompanied you, because Jimin ditched you." Taehyung said, and finally met Jungkook's eyes with a glare of his own. "There's nothing more to it."
"Okay." Jungkook dragged the word and suppressed a smile. Taehyung was riled up, and Jungkook couldn't help but enjoy it.
He knew Taehyung was the stubborn type. He wouldn't willingly admit what was on his mind or maybe Jungkook was thinking too much into this. Whatever the case, Taehyung's reaction proved one thing.
It affected him, if Jungkook was sad or hurt. Taehyung couldn't hid his emotions when he saw Jungkook giving him a sad pout. The younger had caught him red-handed.
"Oh! I know!" Jungkook came to a stop, and Taehyung raised an eyebrow at him.
"What? Why did you stop?"
They were a couple feet from the parked car.
"I know a place that you'll like." Jungkook said, and slipped his phone back into the pocket. The action wasn't lost on Taehyung.
He narrowed his eyes at Jungkook. "I think one movie for tonight was enough. I'm tired and not in mood to watch another one."
Jungkook shook his head. "We aren't going to watch a movie."
"Then what?"
"I'll tell you when we get there. C'mon!" Jungkook beckoned the other to follow him.
It was a good thing he hid his phone before Taehyung saw the destination. He wanted to keep it a surprise. It wasn't in the plans, but Jungkook knew Taehyung hadn't exactly enjoyed himself during the movie. He simply watched it, without getting much involved in the storyline. Jungkook had his suspicions that the other had accompanied him because Jungkook had wanted to watch it for a long time, and didn't want to cancel the tickets last minute. And now, it was sort of confirmed.
Taehyung had tagged along so that Jungkook wasn't left alone.
And as much as he liked the warm feeling in his heart when he thought this way, it also didn't solve the issue that – Taehyung still hadn't had his share of fun.
He hadn't let loose yet, and Jungkook had wanted to do so, since the start.
The main reason behind his plans were, so that the three of them could hangout like normal friends, so that Taehyung didn't need to be so aloof and cutoff in front of them.
He wanted Taehyung to live a little, to have some fun, and his new plan was going to work.
This time, it was going to make Taehyung happy – Jungkook just knew it.
