"This is a bad idea, Kookie."
Jimin glanced at his side. He couldn't see Jungkook's face, and was wondering why he had decided on this plan. Yes, Jimin had agreed to dig up Taehyung's past and try to find out who he truly was, but that didn't mean, Jungkook had to drag him back to Taehyung's apartment and ask for proof that instant.
"If you're serious, then you have to prove it." He had said, when Jimin was finished with dinner.
"Prove it? How?" Jimin, always being the naïve one, ended up falling into the trap.
"Let's go to his apartment right now. I'll pretend to want to meet him, and you can sneak into his apartment this time. Try finding that strange room, and only then I'll believe you." Jungkook's tone had been a mix of playfulness and seriousness.
Jimin knew he wanted to get answers as soon as was possible. And with Jimin by his side, maybe they could unveil this mysterious person called Taehyung – sooner. Still he had hoped to wait till next day before the came back. These frequent visits were making it seem as if not Taehyung, but the two were his stalkers. And also the fact that Jungkook had met him this morning.
Wouldn't it be overly suspicious if Jungkook ended up at his doorsteps again?
"He would want to know, what the watchers said to me." Jungkook had reasoned.
"How can you be so sure? Did you forget? He was the one who left you behind with that Hoseok guy and Yoongi. If he was interested, he would have waited with you."
"I...I think they made him uncomfortable." Jungkook had said, having a confused look in his eyes. "Maybe because he knew they were monitoring his every move, it must have been frustrating."
Jimin had shaken his head at Jungkook's words. The more he had interacted with Taehyung, the more Jungkook seemed to slip through his fingers. "I still don't think it's a good idea to go see him now."
"It will be fine, Jimin-ssi. Trust me. He was the one who told me to inform him. I have a good enough reason. He won't suspect anything."
Finally, after much deliberation Jimin had sighed and gotten behind the wheel, with Jungkook on his side and his bodyguard in the backseat. He hadn't wanted Jaco to come with them, but knowing what Taehyung was capable of, Jimin thought some extra muscle would be a good idea.
"I hate this."
They sat in the car, and stared at the building in front of him.
"You worry too much." Jungkook said, but even Jimin could pick out the uneasiness in his voice.
"Maybe we should wait till midnight, and then-"
"No." Jungkook. "I'm going now."
Before Jimin could say anything to him, Jungkook opened the door and stepped out. Groaning out loud, Jimin followed behind him. They made slow progress towards the entrance of the 'Everest Apartments'. Jimin almost felt a sense of familial spirit, looking at the beige exteriors.
"I don't remember if they have a backdoor leading to the stairs, but I had seen a fire exit sign before." Jungkook said, and Jimin nodded in reply.
He could find his way inside, his only worry was Jungkook raising doubt inside Taehyung, making him suspect something was going on. He couldn't even begin to think what would happen if Taehyung lost his cool.
"I'll find my way in, don't worry. Just...you, be careful please." Jimin said.
When Jungkook didn't reply back, Jimin caught him by his arm, stopping him. They a couple feet from the entrance now.
