It took him twenty minutes to reach the SKYLARK, and Taehyung hated every bit of it.
He was there when driving cars was just a mere dream. He was there when people were realizing this dream, inventing the model that would later turn into the desirable automobiles humans drive in the current century – he had seen the birth and evolution and rise of these vehicles, yet he didn't share the same love as the other humans, when it came to driving from one place to the other.
It was too noisy, caused too much pollution and a waste of money most times, if traffic was involved.
Letting out an exhausted sigh Taehyung parked his SUV in the parking lot and made his way to the entrance.
He didn't have an entry card, he had to trick the security guard into letting him in. He had regretted doing so later. Using mind spells wasn't his favorite thing, but he needed to check up on Jungkook, and he would do whatever required to reach to him, even if meant creating a time lapse.
Taehyung paused at the stairs leading to the reception, unsure if this was a good move.
Neither Jimin nor Jungkook knew he would be paying them a visit. With the level of luxury that came with staying at the SKYLARK, the security was also top-notch. And with Jimin's celebrity status, he knew the floor he stayed on would be heavily guarded.
It didn't matter that Taehyung had seen the insides of their room or hallway and had run downstairs as soon as he got the chance, if the guards caught him now, he would be thrown out.
The last time Jimin and Jungkook had hauled his unconscious state over to their room, he was prety sure, Jimin had made sure to hide who he was, and how badly injured he was. They never came to the point of discussion but the way Jimin had been arguing with Jungkook about not letting the doctor see Taehyung, he knew the guy must have been extra careful bringing him in.
Right now though, it wouldn't fair well on Taehyung's part if he were discovered.
He was only planning to sneak a peek at Jungkook, nothing more.
Taehyung stepped back from the entrance and went to the backside of the SKYLARK, noting the number of guards. He recalled his memory of the Jimin's room and the possible direction it faced. After he had traced his footsteps, down to his uncharacteristic and hasty escape from the place, Taehyung settled on the east wing of the building.
His wish was going to require another time lapse, stealth and quite a lot of climbing.
Taehyung sighed and shook his head.
He had thought he could avoid the duo for a bit longer in this lifetime. But it hadn't worked out. There was no escaping his fateful run into Jungkook this time either.
A deep breath, clenched fists and closed eyes and Taehyung was ready. He called upon his essence, willing the thin, shimmering gold thread of time to bend to his will. A surge of energy rushed down his arms and towards his fingertips. With a few flicks of his wrist, Taehyung branded the air before him with the character of time, and stepped back.
Few minutes passed, and Taehyung felt his skin prickle with the initiation of time around him.
He moved quickly, finding grooves on the wall leading to the jutting balcony of the first landing, and then another, until he had climbed five floors and now faced with the impossible jump to the balcony beside the current one he was hanging from.
Taehyung wasn't exactly scared of heights. It was just that the humans with their obsession with skyscrapers had made him a bit wary. And he couldn't bring himself to look down, for the fear of losing his grip on the railing of the sixth floor balcony.
