"Where was Tae?"

Jungkook should have stopped asking himself this question, knowing Taehyung hadn't bothered to explain his plans to him. But it had been over half an hour and Taehyung was still inside the hidden room, doing who knows what?

Now, it wasn't just curiosity itching under Jungkook's skin, urging him to enter the room – it was worry and fear that something had gone wrong.

Was Tae trying to cure himself of the sickness he mentioned before? Was he using his powers to do it?

From where Jungkook sat on the bed, he could only see a part of the room – the side with paintings of him, Jimin and Taehyung. They covered part of the flooring, and there was no way Taehyung could sit among them without being seen by Jungkook. So where was he?

Another fifteen minutes passed while he waited.

"That's it!" Jungkook couldn't take the silence anymore, and got up.

"Tae?" He called and took a hesitant step towards the room. There was no reply, no sound.

In fact, there hadn't been any noise or movement whatsoever, since Taehyung stepped inside. Jungkook frowned at the thought.

It was a dangerous one.

Had something gone wrong? Was Taehyung hurt?

Jungkook's heart skipped a beat, and he took the last remaining steps to the door frame leading to the room. He needed to enter, and find out Taehyung. The elder might scream and yell at Jungkook all he wants later, after Jungkook knew that Taehyung was safe and sound.

He couldn't bear the thought of Taehyung being injured somewhere in the dark room, lying on the floor trying to hide his pain, while Jungkook was waiting for him on the other side of the room.

He raised his hand, trying to test the invisible force that had thrown him off before.

"Huh?"

Unlike before, Jungkook's hand went right through whatever spell Taehyung had cast before. Did it mean, Taehyung had removed it?

Somehow, Jungkook didn't think it was possible.

Taehyung had been adamant about him not entering the room. He wouldn't suddenly remove the only barrier keeping Jungkook away from the room...would he?

Jungkook took a deep breath, trying to calm his heart hammering against his ribcage, and dragged his feet across the line, the wooden door frame rubbing against the sole of his Adidas shoes.

He paused, waiting for something to happen...again.

He was met with zero resistant.

The total lack of response and sound grated on his nerves, and made him jittery.

What had happened to Taehyung?

"Tae?" Jungkook called again, once he was across the door frame and inside the room.

The air in the room tickled his nose, a hint of dust and dampness in it.

He brought his hand up and traced the nearby wall. There had to be a switch for the light in here somewhere right? Jungkook's fingers probed the cool brick structure but found nothing.

There was no light visible and Jungkook squinted his eyes, trying to adjust to the dark interior.

"Tae?" He called out, his voice a mere whisper.
