"If you want to talk to Namjoon, he isn't here." Seokjin said in way of greeting. He wore the same stoic mask, no feelings and no expressions peeked from beneath that cover.
Taehyung had never known him to be anything else. He was always great at hiding his thoughts, and even if Taehyung was a good judge of character, he couldn't draw out Seokjin's real emotions.
Their relationship over the centuries had been one of exchange of information, nothing more and nothing less.
"That's fine. I wasn't summoning hyung, but you. I wanted to talk to you."
Taehyung said those words and stared at Seokjin.
Maybe this would be the only time he would see the elder slip up. His eyes widened and his mouth opened, as if to say something, but closed it again. "Did something happen?" He asked, getting down to business.
"Nothing had happened, just yet." Taehyung said, watching Seokjin. Why had his brother fallen in love with him? Taehyung still had no answer.
"What do you mean? Speak clearly." From within the mirror, Taehyung saw a beam of white light illuminate one side of Seokjin's face, before fading away. That brief glimpse made Taehyung frown. Was that sadness he had seen on Seokjin's face or was he always like this, depressed and pale?
Taehyung shook his head. Right now wasn't the time to think of others, he needed answers and he was going to get them.
"Did you send those watchers to keep an eye on me?"
"Who?" Seokjin asked, but Taehyung had caught the brief shift in his eyes. He was pretending to not know.
"The two guys that that met me in the café, Hoseok and Yoongi... did you send them to watch over me?"
There was no answer.
"Don't you dare lie to me." Taehyung said, making sure Seokjin heard the threat in his voice. He might not have the full use of his powers, but he wouldn't back down from a fight with Seokjin, even if it meant hurting both of them in the process.
He had had enough secrets to live with already, and he didn't want the extra trouble of the watchers hovering near his house, always on his back, monitoring his every move.
Seokjin glared at him, their staring match playing out for a couple minutes, before the elder sighed and looked away.
"Whatever."
"So you do admit to sending those watchers after me?" Taehyung didn't know whether to be furious or disappointed in him.
After he got the curse and began his life as an immortal, Seokjin didn't interfere with his Fate. He avoided Taehyung like the plague, and it was only ever Namjoon that talked to him through the mirror. Taehyung wasn't complaining, but he had a burning desire to make Seokjin hurt, the way his punishment had been handed down. Why should Taehyung be the only one to suffer?
Seokjin had played with his fates, with Jungkook's fate, so how was he let off hook so easily? He was the one who had let the elders know about the two of them, he was the start of every tragedy in Taehyung's life...so how?
How could he enjoy his life with his lover and not Taehyung?
He never got to make Seokjin suffer though, because the other never bothered to show his face to Taehyung, after the banishment. Taehyung had thought that Seokjin hated him, which is why he had ignored Taehyung, but now he wasn't so sure.
