He shouldn't be this nervous, but he couldn't help it.

Taehyung had stayed away from Jungkook for so long that now, going out with him, their first official outing in this lifetime, had him tensed. He didn't know what this Jungkook liked, or where he would like to go. It was one of the reason why, Taehyung had left that decision to Jungkook.

It was up to Jungkook where they should plan to hangout.

"This is not a date." Taehyung repeated to himself the third time, in a span of ten minutes. "This is not going to be a date, so stop freaking out."

But his feeble prep talk wasn't working on his heart.

At first he had thought it would be the three of them – Jimin, Jungkook and Taehyung, who would go out and watch a movie maybe. But Jimin had bailed out, saying he had got a call from his management, and had a shooting scheduled that day. Taehyung didn't know if Jimin was making up reasons to not hangout with him because his human mind couldn't make peace with Taehyung being something unnatural, or he was genuinely busy.

This left only the two of them, and Taehyung couldn't get rid of the past memories that kept popping in his mind, every once in a while – the times they had sneaked out, gone behind Namjoon's back and raced to their secret hideout, or how they had shared the first kiss under a waterfall and ended up getting sick, and Namjoon had bit his head off for getting ill so suddenly.

Of course, his brother only found out later that the reason for his disappearances had been Jungkook.

Taehyung sighed. "So much for staying away from you. I'm such an idiot." He muttered and finally decided to go with the first outfit in his hand.

A simple green sweater, and black pants – nothing too gaudy or party wear.

Since he still didn't know where they were going, Taehyung thought this outfit would fit for a casual outing – after all it was just that – an outing with a friend, nothing more.

"Right..." Taehyung shook his head, as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. Worry lines were perched on his forehead and he looked far from excited.

Yes, he would give anything to meet Jungkook, but a part of him was still questioning the turn of events. Was it safe? Would it be fine to keep it a secret from the Elders? Because he knew Seokjin would hide it, as he had promised, but Taehyung didn't want any trouble from his side. He hadn't warmed up to Seokjin yet, but if anything happened to him, his brother would be sad, and Taehyung didn't want that.

At that moment, Taehyung's phone pinged, alerting him of incoming message.

"Hey! Can you come to SKYLARK? I have a session with my trainer, and need a couple minutes more." It was a text from Jungkook. "But I don't you to wait for me. So, can you come here, instead of me picking you up from your apartment?"

Taehyung didn't reply immediately, and maybe Jungkook thought he was upset, because his next message said so.

"I'm sorry. It's alright if you don't want to come here. I'll try to hurry up and leave ASAP."

"It's fine." Taehyung sent back his reply. If he delayed any further, Jungkook would probably send another sorry message. "I'll come over."

"Awesome!" The message had two smiley emoticons and it made Taehyung smile.

This boy was so easy to please.

The thought caused the happy feeling in his heart to lessen, and the past reared his head again.
