Jimin had officially lost it.
There was no other way to put it, Jungkook thought.
Last night had been a whirlwind of the other sputtering in terror and dragging him from the restaurant and into the car, leaving a baffled Taehyung behind and, shouting at Jaco to rush them back home. When Jungkook had tried to get the reason for this strange behavior from Jimin, he shook his head, lips pursued as if trying to keep the answer inside him until they reached SKYLARK.
"What's wrong with you? Why do you look like you saw a ghost?"
"I saw something much worse." Jimin had whispered then.
Once they were inside the parking lot, again, Jimin grabbed his hand and raced to the elevator. Jungkook didn't even bother asking him why he was in such a hurry, he just let Jimin do whatever he wanted.
He had guessed, the elder would stop only once they were inside their rooms, or Jimin's room specifically.
"Now, can you tell me what's going on?"
Jimin ignored him and went about tidying his room, dusting imaginary dust and doing everything to avoid his eyes. He kept muttering something, but Jungkook had a hard time picking out the words.
"What's wrong? Jimin-ssi?" Jungkook walked over to him and placed his hands on the guy's shoulder stopping him mid-action.
"What is it? What's bothering you?"
"Stay away from Taehyung." Jimin had whispered then, with such terror in his eyes that it had knocked the breath from Jungkook's lungs.
Under his touch, Jimin was shivering and his lips trembled from a fear that was still unknown to Jungkook. "Why? What happened? Did he do something? Did he...did he use his magic-"
"No...no, he's too smart to get caught like that." Jimin said and shook his head. The terror in his eyes turned to venomous anger and Jungkook was at a loss for words.
What had gotten into Jimin? He had been fine half an hour ago.
"Just stay away from him, do you understand?" Jimin had directed the words at him, the toxic anger still swirling behind his eyes and Jungkook worried about his friend.
The only time Jimin had been this angry, was when a few idols from opposing agency had tried to bully Jungkook. And Jimin had made sure to teach them a lesson on Jungkook's behalf.
Usually it was Jungkook who resorted to getting violent, his anger making him see red for a split second before his temper disappeared.
But that was never the case with Jimin.
It took a lot to get Jimin angry. And when he did lose his cool, it was mostly related to his personal life or Jungkook, and that kind of situation rarely occurred.
Seeing Jimin this affected, Jungkook had known the case was a serious one...maybe more serious than the puzzle in his head regarding Taehyung and his mysterious room.
"Jimin-ssi we were just out for dinner with Taehyung half an hour ago, and now you want me to keep my distance? Why? What did he do?"
"It's not what he did! It's what he could do! It's about what he could do to you...you-I-" Jimin stopped and swallowed. "Please Jungkookie, listen to me this one time."
Jimin's pleading was another rare thing that Jungkook had witnessed last night.
Never before had Jimin put across such a request with so much emotion and with glassy eyes, and it scared Jungkook that he would cry any second. Without much thought Jungkook had given a slow nod.
