Jungkook breathed in the night air and slowly released the tension coiled inside his body.

It was a narrow escape, and if it hadn't been for the mystery guest Taehyung had to meet in the wee hours of morning, Jungkook wouldn't have been able to slip away...at all.

He had somehow managed to find the exit to the fire entrance and raced down the steps, to the back alley connecting the 'Everest Apartments' to the main road. The parking lot stretched to his right, bathed in the bleak morning light, and a sense of desolate existence surrounded it.

Jungkook scanned the area for any suspicious movement, but there was none. And he made his way to the cars lined beside each other.

His bucket list didn't have 'stealing cars' written on it, but Jungkook might as well add it, because he couldn't see any other choice than the one in front of him. He was a couple miles from their hotel, and Jimin was still clueless about his whereabouts.

He needed a ride back home.

The bodyguard had still to make an appearance, but a part of Jungkook wondered if he had slipped away to inform Jimin about the situation. He had been on the phone with his friend, and Jimin knew the last place they had followed Taehyung to, before Jungkook walked into the apartment to do some more digging.

Digging – he wanted to call it a somewhat productive exploration, but the word 'digging' stuck in his head. He had gone and violated Taehyung privacy, watched him cry out Jungkook's name in his sleep, and be woken up from his frightful sleep to meet someone he didn't know. He had dug into Taehyung's personal space more then he should have, and now he couldn't undo it. What was worse, was that he couldn't stop thinking about that room...the room that Taehyung and hidden away from prying eyes such as his.

And who was the person who wanted to meet Taehyung in the early hours of morning? He knew nothing about Taehyung's social life, but with the way he lived, it was hard to imagine Taehyung surrounded by a brunch of loud friends. To Jungkook, Taehyung seemed more of the silent, loner, sitting in his corner sipping coffee – kind of guy.

He had been in the midst of checking if the car in front of him was unlocked, and a hand grabbed his arm.

"Woah!" Jungkook shouted, surprised and a little freaked out. It was too early in the morning to get mugged in the parking lot.

Hadn't he checked for suspicious folks? How had he missed this one?

"You idiot!"

"Oh! Jim-"

"Do you know how worried I was!"

"I-" Jungkook tried to say over the other's voice, but he couldn't.

"I was so worried! Do you have any idea!"

"Jimin-" Jungkook cringed at the high-volume shouts Jimin had bombarded him with the minute he caught his hand. "You need to calm down!"

"Calm down!" His voice went up an octave, and Jungkook was forced to cover his ears.

With the way his best friend was going off, shouting his head off at Jungkook, the entire building would know the fight going down between them, and one of those lucky occupants could be Taehyung. Jungkook would have escaped for nothing, if the guy found out about him.

"You want me to calm down! Are you fucking mental!" Jimin was shouting, but he had toned it down for now.

Jungkook stared at him surprised. Jimin never, never cursed at him.
