Dali-dali namang tumalikod si Lacy nang makita niya si Cain. Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ni Cain at pinabayaan ang dalaga sa ginawa nito.
Kaagad na pinunasan ni Lacy ang luha na tumulo galing sa kaniyang mga mata at inayos ang kaniyang sarili. Nakaramdam siya ng hiya dahil nakita pa siya ng lalaki pero nang humarap siya ulit kay cain ay nakangiti na ito sa kaniya na para bang wala itong nakita kanina.
"Hey..." kalmadong tawag niya rito. "You're here," untag niya. Malawak ang ngiti na binigay nito sa kaniya at tumango.
"Yup!" he said, popping the 'p'. Lacy smiled at him with that.
"You disappeared yesterday so I thought you went somewhere..." nahihiyang saad nito. Lacy sighed but didn't told him that he met with his highness.
"Yeah. I just noticed that people keep on talking about me though, I guess that's why," sabi nito sa kaniya.
"I didn't tell a soul about you though. So rest assured that your secret is safe with me," he assured. Ngumiti naman si Lacy sa kaniya at nagpasalamat.
"People are curious about the lady in red and I supposed..." Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ni Lacy nang magpabitin ito. But he just stops and shakes his head.
"No one found out about you."
"Anyway, I might not accompany you at the birthday clebration of his majesty." Nangunot naman ang noo nito at tinanong kung bakit.
"His highness found out about our plan and he caught us red-handed yesterday," inform nito. Napa-'oh' naman ang labi ni Lacy nang marinig iyon.
"So... what did he say? And why does this banquet thing have to do with what happened yesterday?" takang tanong ni Lacy. "And I doubt that his highness lets go you all off easily."
"Well, his highness got mad once he found out and gave the three of us a suspension-- a house arrest for 2 weeks. That's why he have to stay inside of our house and we are forbidden to go here, starting tomorrow," he said. "So, I cannot also go to the birthday celebration." Napatango naman si Lacy sa sinabi nito.
"But don't worry, even if he found out that the four of us planned something else, he didn't include you though, but I am not sure if he's going to give you a suspension like us. He must've thought that you were still at the temple. Well, I'll be worried if he gave you an unfair punishment when you were dragged in this," sabi nito.
"I must've show you my gratitude for everything you've done to me these past few days..." Nagkunwaring nag-isip naman si Lacy.
Dahil nga bawal na ito tumapak sa Faeroe, probably... "How about a dinner at my house tonight?" pagtatanong nito. Kaagad namang ngumiti si Cain sa kaniya at masayang itinango ang ulo.
"Of course, my lady. It's my pleasure," he said. Kinuha nito ang kanang kamay niya at hinalikan ang likod ng palad nito.
Bahagyang nagulat si Lacy sa ginawa ng binata at hindi maiwasan ang pagtibok ng kaniyang puso. Habang nakadikit ang mga labi nito sa kaniyang kamay, iniangat nito ang kaniyang mata upang matignan si Lacy at bahagyang ngumisi.
Lacy unconsciously licked her lips, and cleared her throat to make the awkward tension disperse.
"U-Uhm... so... I guess you're busy? Since..." Cain nodded his head and smiled. "Yeah. So are you...?"
"Yup. I'll be visiting my father since he told me he's here. So I must pay him a visit." Tumango naman si Cain at nagpaalam na.
"I'll see you later," his raspy voice said. Lacy smiled at him and bow down her head before bidding her goodbyes.
