Part 2: Chapter 83

Mabilis na lumayo si Lacy sa kaniya at pumunta sa isa pang pwesto upang lumipat sa kabilang shooting range. Mabilis siyang kumuha ng palaso at ipinuwesto ang kaniyang katawan at bahagyang ipinikit ang kaliwang mata bago pakawalan ang pana.

Mabilis itong bumulusok at tumama sa bilog na pula-- gitnang-gitna.

Tumaas ang dalawang kilay ni Pickett sa kaniyang nakita at napa-ubo nang mahina sa kaniyang nasaksihan.

"You're back," pagsisimula ni Lacy nang hindi tinitignan ang binata.

"Just yesterday night," sambit nito. Lacy looked over her side before picking another arrow and examining how pointed it was.

"That's good," maikling bulong nito bago pumusisyon ulit at pakawalan ang pangatlong pana.

Ilang minuto niyang pinagmasdan ang panang tumama sa bilog na pula bago humarap kay Pickett. "We could finally talk about our deal."

Pickett stares at her before nodding his head, "Then please lead the way."

Matapos makapagbihis nang maayos ni Lacy ay kaagad siyang dumiretso sa library sa kung saan nandoon si Pickett at naghihintay sa kaniya. Huminga muna siya nang malalim bago buksan ang pinto at pumasok sa loob. Nakita niya ang binata na nakatayo at tumitingin sa shelves.

She made her presence known as she clears her throat and walking in an aisle that has three high shelves, about 13-15 feet.

"First, I wanted to tell you that these three shelves, back to back consist of the years that you were gone. I had to shoulder everything from little tiny business to the heavy responsibilities while you were out there fighting and doing the expedition."

Pickett looked at her as she explains everything. "I know."

"Good. Then let's proceed, shall we?" tanong nito habang may ngiting halata mong may masamang balitang dala.

"Each shelves contains each year, the front is for about 6-month long and so as the back. I didn't organize them by names or categories because the dates are too important when it comes to it. So, being considerate, I arranged them by days, months and year."

"Although I arranged them by year, I also arranged them by categories. It has three cuts, the left of the shelve is for the businesses, from up to down. The middle is all related to the castle work only, the right side would be work and relations outside of the kingdom. Some of them are already reviewed and the only thing you need to do is to sign them whether you agree or decline. I reviewed them and based my decision on opinion, perspective, insights and what'll your somewhat decision. But that's up to you, I just based it on what'll benefit to us and our people and some other political things."

"The second shelve is also the same, and lastly the third shelve. Since you are here before the 3rd year, it only occupies the front shelve. It's just the same with others. And I temporarily put on the back shelve the investigation that we had for the past three years."

Naglakad sila sa likod ng pangatlong shelve sa dulong bahagi ng library at doon ang mga papeles na naka-bind, hindi puno ang shelve pero malalaman mo na marami na rin ang nakalap dahil makakapal ang mga naka-bind na papel. Kung susumahin, aabot ang libro sa 78, dahil ang librong pwedeng magkasya sa ganitong kalaking bookshelve ay 168. Sa isang side pa lamang iyon ng shelve kung isang buong shelve, aabot ito ng 336 na libro, makapal man o hindi. Aabot sa 918-- to be exact sa tatlong shelves.

"There are 2 more coming and it's still under investigation. Bella and Valerie are already working on that. The two Gallegher went back to their own home for the mean time, so Golden, Cain and me, are the only one that's free, for now."
