----Alexander----

I woke up to a kick in the kidneys and my face on the floor all of a sudden. My eyes were big with shock. My body was tired, but my mind was wide awake. I stayed very still waiting for them to make the next move. I let out a sigh of relief as I heard the following words, “Get up and out. It’s morning.” It was only Elijah. I got up and covered my chest as I scurried quickly into the bathroom. It was embarrassing to let a girl see me half naked! I took my hung up suit and put it back on. I would need to shop and purchase a few more later.

I slipped on my slacks, white flannel shirt, tie, and blazer. I put on each sock, the right one first then the left. I slid on my black dress shoes, combed my black long hair, put on Old Spice deodorant, I picked up at the convenience store, and brushed my teeth.

I stepped out of the bathroom to find Elijah sliding on her combat boots again. She was wearing some typical ‘scene’ outfit as it was called. I didn’t understand or care about the teen fashion world. I liked to look sophisticated all the time.

“Whoa, where are you going?” She asked as she laced her left boot.

“A fast moving space time continuum portal, where are you going?” I asked taking a risk at cracking a sarcasm joke. She laughed actually and gave me an annoyed smirk.

“I mean why are you dressed up?” She asked making her point clear.

“I always wear proper attire.” I told her grabbing my briefcase and messenger bag I had purchased to hold my clothing items and small necessities. She raised an eyebrow to show that was odd of me, but I paid no attention to it as I walked down the steps. I unlocked the door with the touch screen knob and exited uncaring if the door was unlocked as I left.

I went down in the elevator confidently with a new eyelid cam in place. As the glass doors opened I saw the modern lobby with a few people at the front desk asking for the best place to eat here. Surely it was no where; since all the food here is kept frozen for containment or processed since the lack of animals. Disgusting. I would stick to freeze dried food. The fat man at the front desk eyed me as I left, but of course I made no eye contact towards him. Why should I? He was none of my concern.

The streets were crowded with it being morning again. I was really hoping to find a quiet place to observe the government for awhile… Perhaps I’d sit quietly on top of a high building for a while. First, I would have to consult the receptionist about my new living arrangements, and I expected another penthouse. I relieved my Chiropteran wings and sprang up, careful not to scuff my dress shoes, and made my way across town to the front gate. I flew over tall buildings, and paved roads until the scenery began to die down after five minutes of flying time. The buildings thinned out until there was a large wall. I ease my way through the crack in the rock wall and walked through semi-easily. Light shone through after I curved my way around and saw a large titanium floor as well as wall. There stood a small office building that I walked into after pushing the red entrance button on the wooden door.

“What can I do for you?” A woman with black hair tied up and glasses asked me.

“I was placed in the wrong penthouse last night due to a misunderstanding with a clerk of yours. I need to be reserved a new penthouse, preferably on the west side of town. I’m not a lover of noise.” I explained to her business like.

“How old are you?” She asked confused by my attire, tone, and then face.

“How old do I look?” I replied. She nodded.
